Yeah there’s a lot of variables that have to be dialed in because there’s no time to correct them. On the bright side… I’ll have some Scottie Peach for you. ![]()

Definitely looking forward to trying a well grown version of it. I guess the best answer is that it’s difficult for starting autos outside in this Va summer weather. I would have been better to start them inside under the light beforehand, I think.
Thats been my experience as well. Any autos ive tried outdoors, they dont usually get very big before flower kicks in. Inside was the total opposite, i got a round of monsters and almost had to swap over to the 12/12 schedule just hoping that would jumpstart the flowering cycle
I’m starting to get the impression at this point that there is a correlation between the overall sizes the plant and how long before flowering begins. The ones that got the biggest seem like they began flowering around Five weeks. The ones that were about average height around 2 feet and ones that were stunted flowering began around three weeks. I had one oddball strawberry og cookies that started just short of two weeks and would have been around three feet tall if not for the hst training. The nugs were like tennis balls and was one of the best, second only to the white fire gelato photo. I’m just waiting for the sprout to start throwing pistils for the final insult. One slightly hilarious mini popcorn bud for my troubles ![]()
Edit: for some reason it doesn’t show the reply was addressed to you @brownsfan100
I believe i read somewhere if the reply is the very next post, it doesnt show who its too. Another user would have to respond inbetween in order for the indicator to show up. Dont quote me though ![]()
You might be on to something. I never thought about it that way but it would definitely explain why. Been operating on the assumption that the blue reply button is non specific but the reply arrow at the bottom of the post would indicate a reply to that specific person.
If memory serves me right, it was @kaptain3d that mentioned this some months back. I always wondered too why it didnt appear on all replies. I too was having the same train of thought as you with the blue reply versus the direct reply. Damn technology ![]()
You are correct about that. Kap did clarify it in this thread I think. I’m kinda lazy about scrolling back through. When it happens I just take it as a reminder to use proper etiquette and include a tag in my reply @brownsfan100
Had to edit that in so it shows how forgetful I am about it
Welcome to the pharm @TigerPil
Thanks for the like. Earned me a badge.
I have been paying close attention and it looks like you’re absolutely correct about the reply button and arrow @brownsfan100
Looks like a post in between is needed to display the recipient avatar.
Hellz yeah gromie!
I’m learning a boatload from everyone here and hope my first grow works out. Thanks for sharing your knowledge…and booyah and the badge ![]()
You’re welcome and thank you. I’m close to the 3 year mark here with no prior horticultural experience of any kind. I discovered the forum when I went looking for a safe place to buy my first seeds and found it was such a great resource that I never even bothered to check out any other similar forums. The high standards for mature and polite discussion are second to none according to many users. The people here are always friendly and helpful with the occasional exception but the moderators and community members are exceptional at resolving conflicts before they rise to the level of action. I didn’t check your profile until now so I just noticed you just joined. Welcome to the forum community @TigerPil
I see you lurking @kaptain3d lol. Good morning to you sir. Have a great Sunday! I know how busy you are on the forum and I just felt like thanking you again for your dedication to the community and taking time to stop by here. I always feel honored to have such a highly respected member following my humble little journal.
You’re too kind my friend. Thank you for making thisplace so interesting ![]()
Every deck has a couple jokers
. You stand out in that crowd by keeping your thread entertaining with hilarious content mixed in with great growing techniques. You definitely deserve acknowledgement and appreciation. I’m starting to sound like a fanboy ![]()

It does sort of feel like having a celebrity stop by your house though especially knowing how much you spread your time out here.
Thanks for the welcome!
I fell in love with gardening in 2020 and have been expanding my garden throughout the backyard. Two years ago, I started learning about medicinal plants and that interest grew to include the benefits of cannabis this year. I also figured if I am able to grow some quality plants, it’ll save my daughter a small fortune at the dispo.
My initial success in my mind more than paid for the buy in. You don’t have to completely knock it out of the park to achieve that either imho. It’s definitely challenging to dial everything in but the forum will get you there. There will be a diversity of opinions on many topics and I followed the advice of browsing through journals for people who were using the same setup and growing style to find a mentor/s so to speak to mimic their success as best as I could. I also usually tell people that I am not quite at mentor level and haven’t figured out everything yet to get the best results every time in the environment I have. Learning from others mistakes is valuable too and I think that is closer to where my journal fits. Above all, patience and perseverance are key. I believe a certain amount of beginners luck around here owes to the wealth of knowledge available here. People who do the most reading across multiple topics before starting and buying things have the best chance for first time success.
Hey @TigerPil welcome to the community! ![]()
@OverallQuill80 I agree with you on the little stuff and photoshopped If I see a photo that’s been altered in any way it is a no from me
Hope everyone has a great day
I’m slightly more forgiving there and have used photo editing on all of my entries. I kept it minimal with the goal of making it appear as close to the color and clarity of viewing in person. There was one exception when I entered a heavily shopped GSC bud picture but I considered it for fun and not a contender.
Quick update time
I think the leaves on the sprout have gotten just the tiniest bit bigger but I can’t tell for sure. I tugged on the shriveled cotyledon and she seems to be anchored in tight vs past ones that stalled and had a single shriveled brown tap root so I’m not ready to give up on it even if it’s got high potential to be another dwarf if it makes it that far.
The Bb is coming along fine for her dwarfish size as well, meaning other than being tiny she looks very healthy. Guessing the root ball will be pretty unimpressive when it gets pulled out after the grow. I took this pic before making adjustments to the lst. I’m going to get an overhead to post later because it looks sort of like a cannabis dragonfly from directly above
The leaf damage is mostly due to me handling during training sessions.
