Nice gift from another
Crescendo which really lives up to the name. I hope to achieve this level someday in a future grow.
Happy Fatherās Day to all the dads out there, your dads, husbands etc to everyone else that first wish excluded. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I plan to get some LST pics of the quick work I did on bb yesterday sometime later BTW.
Thanks for the holiday wishes. I hope youāre enjoying the family today. The Crescendo looks awesome! ![]()
I canāt wait to see the LST on Bruce later. ![]()

Hereās one
Planning to push her down a little further later this afternoon and continue tying down low as she goes ideally.
I treated with the weekly dose of lost coast this morning early when it was still cool and shaded so Iām not too concerned about it touching the ground but itās under constant watch so Iām on it if I see anything yellowing. I saw once someone buried a branch and it grew extra roots so Iām kinda experimenting with that idea in mind but flat training is the main goal here so Iāll decide if itās worth trying later. Just getting the bending locked in now while itās still little. Not following any pattern just circling the outer perimeter and the side branches where ever makes sense. Max training with minimal stress hopefully will get a good yield even if the plant stays small, which I hope it grows out of given its name. Worth mentioning again the back to back heavy rain the days immediately after planting could easily/likely have caused some stunting. Plenty of other hazards to contend with before getting to the end so we shall see. Iām happy if it yields me some useable bud. Considering this a true test for the LC Plant Therapy for my environment to since my indoor use has been mostly reactive rather than the recommended preventative routine. Claims safe up to day of harvest. Considering covering a small portion during application to taste compare.
Edit: also gave in to the urge to circle water a first shot of recharge + molasses water. Been hot a several days since any rain but bb hasnāt given any indication of needing water yet but hoping to kickstart a growth spurt
Looking good OQ. I have been tempted to try LST and the manifold/mainline thing. Maybe Iāll do some to Blusted.
I too have seen buried branches sprout roots. Iām in the same spot with the autos. Hoping for the best and pleased with anything. It seems like you really have to have all your ducks in a row ahead of time with them due to the fast finish and lack of recovery time. Iām learning a lot from the autos. Thanks for hooking me up with the gscās. ![]()

The bb is about 3 weeks above ground now but unfortunately sheās still pretty small for a 3wk old auto. I have another Milky Way sprouted and just planted in a solo. Probably the last try to get a companion going next to the bb. Also put a crescendo seed in another cup of dirt that had soaked for about 3 days with no signs it will sprout but it is being given a chance to surprise me. Not expecting anything since the seed looked only half way mature but never know. I redid the lst skewers so it has one fastened horizontally so I can keep bb trained down low and straight but I didnāt get a picture. Iāll try to get one up here later today
I like the training. I think Iām going to try some next season. Iām too scared this season and just praying things work out. ![]()

Donāt be afraid! Weed is amazingly resilient.
Tell that to my autos. ![]()

Quick update: the crescendo has shown no sign of coming up so far. Iām just going to continue to leave it alone and see. The Milky Way emerged overnight with a pile of soil on top of her head but no helmet onā¦yeah. The membrane was still there holding the cots together so I slipped it off as carefully as I could and it didnāt seem like I disturbed things as much as I have in previous recent germinating. Iām going to hold off on pics for now and maybe post a nice āhanging in there ā in a few days. Have a great weekend everyone!
Checked on the Milky Way earlier and found white strands of mold growth on her, mostly growing from the membrane stuck to one leaf still. I hated to further wet the soil but felt that there was no choice but to hit the top of the cup with a spritz of lost coast. Tried leaving the baby food jar dome off and removed the cup from the shelter of the cardboard box into a shaded spot where the breeze would help dry out the top layer a bit. The plant was starting to lean over after about 10-15 minutes of this so I put her back into the shaded corner of the open box with the glass dome on. I was hoping to get a stronger start than direct planting in hot dry weather but the curse of the south end of the planter is still in effect it seems. Back to crossing the fingers for now. Last note, crescendo didnāt germinate but I already expected this result. Pretty late to be germing an outdoor photo anyway so not a big deal here. The MW seed packs were free with my order too so it helps a little that I didnāt spend much money to get them. I shopped around for a couple cheap single pack seeds to get the cart price right at the minimum and was rewarded with free seeds that exceeded the value of my purchase by a considerable margin, canāt complain. They have all popped so far, trouble begins after.
Hang in there. The heat has been unreal. I hope the lost coast helps the Milky Way. ![]()

Me too. Trade off effect. Protects against molds and bugs but not against soil too wet and stem rot. I was able to take the dome off after the rain and humidity spike. Also got the bb and the entire box covered just in time for the shower so I can at least maintain control over that ones soil moisture level. The warmer dry weather has made drench to drought pretty easy this week.
Yeah I got lucky and pulled Scottie Peach in just before the rain. ![]()
Iām gonna run a pH and ppm test Tuesday before deciding to feed again. Her sugar leaves are super dark green and her fan leaves are olive green and clawing some. Iāve been letting her dry out good (3-4 days). Thinking she might be getting close to nute locked. No real yellowing yet but I feel like itās close. With approx three weeks to go that will tell me whether to feed again or start giving water only now. I can adjust the pH depending on the water source I use. If ppm is high Iāll start giving water only⦠if not Iāll feed for another week. ![]()

This Bruce Banner has apparently made peace with its inner demon and will not be hulking out here. Today is just over 4 weeks.
I doubt that I will be growing any autos outside again, or at least without starting them inside under lights and more favorable conditions.
The Milky Way is one week above ground and looks like it is frozen in time since emerging. It doesnāt appear to be dying either but not exactly looking promising either
Itās been low humidity during the day and I have been removing the dome for short stretches but after 15-20 minutes she starts bowing her head. Before anyone asks, I keep her out of direct sunlight when the dome is on.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Iām right there with you OQ. All three of my autos including the 1 Week old that was doing great yesterday have all suffered from some sort of trauma. ![]()
At first it looked like heat stress but it was still early morning today and no where near as hot as yesterday. Then I remembered I had neem sprayed the plants next to it. I think some neem mist got on it and itās way to young. Anyway weāll see if it recovers or if I paralyzed another one. ![]()

Wish I had an answer for both of us @Shadegrown as far as what the freaking deal is with autoflowers lately. The difference between day and nighttime humidity has been pretty extreme for one thing. I did not check my soil ph either so in my case itās probably more than one issue. On the bright side, you have three that are doing well.
