Anytime bro! Thank you.
I wouldn’t miss it for anything. Grow forth. ![]()
Here are a few more of my builds!
Thanks for the welcomes, guys! I have learned alot in the short time i have been on the forum. Im sure i still have alot to learn also, i am excited for that!
P.S. My names is not Andrew, that was the customer i sent that screenshot too😅
Amazing beautiful work. Quite the artist.
Especially like the lefty although I’m right handed and would not be able to actually play it.
Almost advised against forgetting to crop your name out of the pic to avoid getting a warning about posting personal info until I got to the bottom. Still not a bad idea to protect the innocent ![]()

Finding this picture on the web was a hell of a lot harder than I expected but this is almost the exact same one that I had decades ago except mine was just a econo version of this signature model. It was the closest I ever got to building a guitar. Got for next to nothing from my little brothers friend and sanded the paint off the neck down to bare wood and tung oiled. Body sanded enough for a paint job and handed off to a friend who did auto body to make it metallic royal blue then switched the electronics with a EMG 2 humbucker active retrofit kit. Strung it with a 7 string set minus the high E. Unfortunately no pictures exist of the finished piece and it was sold 20 years ago but it was fun to play around with. Still lacked the feel of a fine instrument but it was my labor of love. Here’s a picture of what it looked like before the painting. You can see why I wanted to change it.
Almost forgot to id it. The one pictured is a earl slick custom model but the finish is identical.
Took too long editing sorry, Phantom Custom Earl Slick Signature pictured
Hell yeah! I bet that looked sweet. I have never done more than basic maintenance. Maybe add shielding to the cavities. I think I swapped a bridge once but certainly no wood working.
I’ve had and lost so much gear to drugs back in the day it’s sickening.
Now I play a Jackson I got on sale for $220 a couple years ago and love it. ![]()

I have a stealth ex candy apple red. It’s not in good shape anymore though. Needs a full electronics overhaul. These days when I get the itch I just pick up the starcaster I bought for my daughter. Yours is in great condition. I always wanted one with flame maple although I just zoomed and realized that it is a different pattern but all the same, love seeing the wood grain through the finish.
Me either. I didn’t have the means to change the pickup layout. I just swapped in a complete kit bought from the store. The one pictured is from the web, mine was the common hum at the bridge, single coil middle and neck.
Thanks! I bought it new from Jackson on a closeout. You were doing good to string a damn tremolo in my opinion. I had a Floyd Rose on an esp once and swore I’d always play a hardtail after that.
That’s awesome you can grab your daughters to fool around. ![]()

Totally agree with you about tremolos. It was a must have back in the day but I wouldn’t ever buy one again. The locknuts are a tremendous help but seriously how often do I need to dive and throw it out of tune.
I almost bought one for my bass back in the 80’s. ![]()

Good save
I’ll try and text you a clip of me screwing around recently. ![]()

That’s awesome. I’m sure my fingers will never move like that anymore lol. I slowly lost time and the space to practice after I got married so I barely ever play anymore. I’m so rusty and just happy if I’m able to remember songs I used to play on the regular.
Thanks! Believe me it’s been my recent captivity that got my chops up. I’m kind of a one trick pony though. I don’t think I could play even a half ass Dee. So kudos! ![]()

Mine might impress non guitar players but those in the know familiar with the tune would catch some mistakes. I used to play my best attempt at the version of crazy train from tribute when I wanted to try to wow people. My old band mates brought the guy I replaced to the practice shed and sprung a battle on me and I whipped that out and he put his guitar down and threw his hands up

. I was like, I’m really not that good but okay lol thanks for stopping by. Stole his girlfriend too by accident but she was one of them catch and release types lol.
Possible you might even know one or both of my old friends since you said you grew up on this side of the river. Brian Bradley or John Moseley ring any bells?
Pulled that last post back just in case it violates site rules
