Banana Kush Fem

At this stage the fluorescent bulb should be good. The HPS bulbs work best in flower. Metal Halide is what you would want to veg with . More blue spectrum . That’s how I run my grows . T5 fluorescent fixture till about 8-10” tall , then I switch to a MH until I’m ready to initiate flower then the HPS bulbs go in.

Rspec ?

I would recommend Rspec. I have run both the v2 and Rspec. I think Rspec is better.

I run mine with the driver in the tent and have not had issues with extra heat. I’m growing in a cool not cold basement so your situation may be different.

Yes, get the r-spec if you can

@BamaGrowLabz, Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. I was teaching a class for the jurisdiction that I work in. I have some pictures I can send you when I get home. I’m assuming that you are talking about moving the drivers outside of the tent/grow area. I think that I recently sent them to @ReconBravo on his post over the weekend. If you decide to do this, I can walk you through it. Yes I would definitely get the rspec if you are going to go the HLG route. @Watt-Sun is on point with the way to run the MH/HPS setup if you go that route but, also agree would be a bit much for your seedlings right now. @Bubblehead is spot on, some people don’t have issues with the heat, with the drivers in the tent/grow area. Definitely go with the respec. Unfortunately I had more of a heat issue with the HLG than with my HID MH/HPS setup. I would suggest if you go the HLG route, try them in the tent/grow area. If they cause a heat issue, tag me and I will be there to walk you through the process. I hope that this helps. Have a great day :+1::+1::+1::+1::v:

I’ve grown ILGM’s Banana Kush a couple of times, in fact I’m currently enjoying my second harvest of BK as I type this

My first grow was in winter 2018-19 and I had no heater in my grow tent, I think they got too cold and one hermied. I didn’t notice and the harvest was only OK-ish. I did get a lot of seeds that I saved tho. The smoke was great, you’ll love it but pollinated flowers are not as big / seem to finish early

Last summer my neighbor grew some of my hermy seeds outdoors and one of the phenos was huge! All the hermy seeds he grew out were female and he got a good yield from all the plants.

I just finished an indoor grow with same hermy seeds and the smoke is just as good as my first grow but I had a heater this time & no seeds  I can’t comment on the terpenes but it definitely gets me stoned

As for the first hermy grow, don’t worry, 100% the problem was mine, I didn’t have my environment under control - no heater - so they got really cold and hermied. None of the plants we grew from hermy seeds hermied, only good females.

What temp did you find they like best?

My environment still isn’t perfect but they seemed happy with mid 20s C lights on and I don’t let them get colder than 20C lights off.

No hermy issues this time and some good smoke at the end, I like ILGM’s BK :+1:

Any input appreciated. So these have been in starters since the 20th and this is all the groth I have thus far. I fell like it’s not as bushy as it should be, roots are starting to come through the peat moss starters now. Should I keep in this stage longer or transfer to final growing home and get big lights going?

I’m sorry if tagging you is unnecessary I’m still learning the forum.

Do you have any solo cups? That or a one gallon pot would be recommended to transplant into before going to your final pot. Watering is a lot more difficult in large pots with small plants :v::bear:

I agree with Mattybear @BamaGrowLabz if you see roots coming out I would go ahead and plant in a solo cup or similar

I concur, you can plant a little deeper and bury some of that stem too.

@MattyBear @Missiles so I need to cut cup for drainage and add soil then continue this process for another week?

Just poke some holes in the cup for drainage and leave her there until she outgrows it. You’ll know when she’s ready to move up

@BamaGrowLabz, personally if it were me, I would figure out what size that I wanted their forever home to be and up pot to that. the leaves are outside the perimeter of the container, I would transplant/up pot. Just my $ 0.02 worth my brother. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :v: :tumbler_glass:

You could repot. Make 3 holes in the bottom of your solo cups and plant them a little deeper to cover some of that stem (they do look a little bit leggy). Be gentle tho, the stems are very delicate and easy to crush

Thanks so much.
