The quicker the better if you are gonna mainline autos.
The procedure is easy, dealing with the delicate stuff is not as easy.
It is easy to break stems and branches when the plant is young.
My JHA made the 8 mains structure until I broke off the 2 on 1 end. 
I think tomorrow I start on my Durban Poison photo’s pruning.

I quad-lined an auto here recently, you can easily extrapolate timing and nodes if your up to it…moves quick, need to be on em damn near everyday.

I could just go ahead and top to the 3rd node on them and clean them out below and get them started tonight.

My GDP is not mainlined, but a more traditional structure.
The GDP has 3 nodes before it got topped.
3 nodes 2 branches all topped x2 = 12 main branches.
It is 100% Indica but its node spacing is ridiculously close.
So I have 12 main branches all seeking to grow their top leaves.
But I cut all sun-leaves at about Silver Dollar size.
I cut a handful of leaves off and within 24 hours another batch is ready to be cut.
It doesn’t look like it has made any progress in the last 2 weeks.
But it most certainly has filling in all its potential bud sites.
Yes, you can keep cutting until you get what will work for you!

Thanks for the insight my friend. I look at 'em every day anyway 
so no problem with keeping up. Was telling flying-high that I can just top these to the 3rd node and start them tonight.

Follow Nebula Haze’s technique. 1 less topping which means less recovery and waiting to top a 3rd time. Difference between Nug Buckets mainline and Nebulas Manifold

Recharge is great stuff, I use once a week and use Tribus/fishsh!t every other feeding. So far the results are amazing. Your plants looking mighty fine brother.

What happened? Did you figure it out now?
I topped my Durban Poison and took a chance topping her so early.
She’ll be fine and her branches will start off tomorrow.

Yes I do have it figured out but letting them grow out just a bit as the mains coming out of the 3rd node are too small. Or should I just bite the bullet and do it? I was thinking about one more night.

@oldguygettingbackin - obsession continues my friend! Here is my next run of the tangies and some ILGM autos. The tangie smoke is amazing. I got lucky since it came from bag seed. Anyway, doing a couple of different things on this run.
So @Flying-High I finally topped one of my Gorilla Glue Autos, #1 in this case. The mains aren’t big yet but I figure it would just focus on growing it instead of all the other nodes.
Now I will wait for 4 nodes to grow on each side before topping again at 3rd node on each side.

I think with Autos topping them asap is best.
Instead of letting stuff grow that is just going to be cut off anyway,
I think topping them asap, tells them it is a tough World out here.
It encourages them to set a strong root before growing more leaves.
So even though my Durban Poison is a photo, I topped at the 3rd node asap.
It is rather odd to see a tent running like mine.
I got a newborn, a teenager, and an adult all in the same tent on a 20/4 light schedule!

I was slightly disappointed with ILGM’s White Widow Autos.
From all the buzz about WW I was expecting more from it.
Now with the inexpensive always on sale SSH, I was pleasantly surprised by it.
The WWA are not bad, just not as good as I expected.
They never got super frosty or dense as the SSH did.
