thats what i started with from the 21/2 through to april. not sure why i changed. maybe im seeing ill affects from that change now. Shit, ive been changing res after 21 days use, trying to hang on to nutes.
Are you using LEDs?
Most of us using LEDs have seen purple petioles and a few of us have tried chasing down solutions to get rid of them (although they don’t seem to affect yield or quality). I’m curious where you found this alternate schedule and what the reasons for using it are - if you can provide a link or anything I’d like to read up on it.
I am about to kick off a flower run using Jacks 3-2-1 modified to the GreenGene formula (the following by weight, per gallon):
2g Jacks A
2.7g Jacks B
2g Espom Salts
1.2g MKP
Ironically that formula is pretty close to the standard Lucas Formula in NPK ratios.
im running QB V2 132s. Im gunna have to chase it up mate, Im running out of nutes. i wont have enough for this grow. that 6:9 is using the stuff quicker than 1:2. Bit upset with myself just now.I had some silly bloody reason… i hope. i get lost with information overload sometimes. i get a bit overkeen with searching. HASTEN SLOWLY i have been told plenty
Happy Birthday!? Cake?

Beginner Plan a Successful Beginning
Sep '17 - Using GH Lucas formula. 6/9… Micro, bloom. With 2 ml cal mag. 2.5 ml hydro guard.
Well interestingly enough I found all kinds of posts in all kinds of forums suggesting that the ratio for GH “Lucas Formula” to use in coco is in fact 6:9. First time I’ve heard that myself.
I largely ignore the plants I have in coco - basically feeding them when I see them starting to droop or the pots are clearly absent any moisture. For the past few months I had been feeding them full Lucas Formula and had zero issues (ppms for me with full LF and my tap water usually is around 900ppm).
Since I switched to Jacks 3-2-1 two or three weeks ago I am starting to see some minor deficiencies.
Otto said he had to bump the Epsom salts a little.
Once I run through the nutes I have mixed up I’m switching them to the GG formula to see what happens. Wish I had been running that from the start so I had a little experience before throwing my clones into the tray and giving them the what’s what.
maybe its the epsoms in mine thats bringing it up to 1200ppm, hang on your using 1:2 … have been thinking bout trying these local products
So here is the 6:9 formula described by it’s creator:
Highyas guys…
After watching and reading and generally being impressed with the results you’ve all been getting with the coco medium, I’ve had to make the switch myself…
Being the rebel that I am…Not having coco specific nutes, and having a full supply of GH flora micro and bloom, I’ve been working at tailoring the ‘Modified Lucas formula’ I was using in pro-mix to suit the coco better…
The mix I have arrived at has reduced levels of K and P, and a slight reduction in total concentration, because I have been keeping the runoff to a minimum (only a few ounces of water come thru, just enough to let me know I’m completely saturated…
So… when I was using a modified lucas formula… my nutrient profile when growing in promix was:
N 130
P 93
K 163
Mg 64
S 43
Ca 130By mixing 8ml/gal micro and 14ml/gal bloom and watering with plain water every other watering…
In the coco, I am now using 6ml/gal micro and 9ml/gal bloom which gives the nute profile:
N 97
P 60
K 105
Mg 41
S 27
Ca 97adding 1 g/gal epsom salts to the solution changes the numbers for mg and s to:
Mg 67
S 61Adjusting for the extra available potassium in the coco, the new formula puts me very close to the ‘target ratio’… Phosphorous is a tad low, but I think there should be no worries there…
Nothing is too far along in flower right now, but I’ll get some pics up a bit later.
I have also seen advantage in keeping the coco fairly wet, I’m guessing that the coco holds the nutes so well, that as moisture evaporates out, concentrations rise…

You can go down a rabbit hole quickly if you stumble across the right thread. I was looking for info on Jack’s once and ran into diy nute thread, which had a bunch of copy cat recipes, and ultimately had me at Washington states fertilizer registry.
Yeah I spent way too much time today not doing my job and instead reading about terpenes and NPK calculators.
sweet. cheers for that. thats solid info. so going off that im not sure why my leaves are clawing (nitrogen). this hydro grow has been getting flippn water changes at 3 week intervals for lastcupla months basically. Ive taken to a 9ml dose of peroxide cupla days before changhe to combat nasties. have seen excellent root growth during these cupla days each time. probably 5-6" perfect white roots, like hair growing.
yep. started going that way before. wenty as far as getting urea, sulphate of potash, phosphorous and stopped real quick when it came to working it out. could only find recipes for 100kg plus.
The last bit that he wrote there is interesting to me - regarding keeping the medium wet (I’m pretty sure @Not2SureYet doesn’t let coco dry out completely) and the coco holding onto the salts after it’s dried up and potentially creating rising concentrations of salts.
I have to feed my moms tonight so I will check run-off on them. I haven’t checked run-off on any of them ever. I do water to around 30% run-off with every feeding.
My only objective with those plants is to keep them alive. Not trying to win any glamour contests with them.
Now any clones they provide, different story.
its not just growing a plant that makes ya feel good, is it fellas? you can make it as technical as buggery. i got to liking the kiss theory unless im really bouncn
looks good and im same. just want em to live and then learn to cure properly.i know ive been told water carries the oxygen to em aye? so keep moist to some degree at all times, staying within your commonsense boundaries but. ive noticed extra growth with every watering. I have 3 in soil in the tent with the 1 hydro
Seems like something a math problem could work out.
I’ve seen that before in other places too. I believe it was in dynagro thread where user was applying foliage pro, pro-tekt, and maybe one other thing multiple times a day. He was just running mixture ratios like 1-2 ml per gallon and applying predetermined amounts of solution twice a day.
most definitely. there was alot of different figures to work with and different components which took the ease out of it. But yes committing to brainwaves if available gets hard to come by sometimes
