Will definitely post some update pictures when I finally do end up harvesting. I’m excited to try these Grove Bags I picked up a few days ago for the curing. I heard really good things about them!
I’m always baffled by estimates of age because I know exactly the day mine sprouted and keep track daily in anticipation. I’m on day 62 on my autos and I didn’t have to think about it
@Amateur-Grower , my friend those grove bags are Great! No burping drop your buds in them with a small hygrometer and forget em! If it freeps close to or above 62 rh simple leave ipen an hour or so. I love them really brings out the terps, ie: flavor , smell etc. Great for long term storage too
This is from my recent grow. I’d say about a month has gone by now since drying. I started them in jars and recently switched them over to the bags. Man I had no idea what I was doing to cure these in the jars. I’d just open the jars up for 15 minutes a day and prayed I was doing the right thing lol. So glad I switched over to these bags.

Nor do I like counting from appearance of pistils or bushiness; after sprout is day 1, 12/12 flip is day one of flower. Autos, it’s a guess… I think it started flowering at week 3.5 or 4 so can’t really be sure

Quoted for truth! I don’t buy when the buds appear stuff whatsoever photos or autos. Might be a good reference point but it’s mostly bro science imo
Always take your readings from the Calyx of the buds and never from a Sugar Leaf. They always mature weeks ahead of your buds. Take a razor or some snips and clip off a tiny calyx (seed pod looking part) and examine that. And be sure ylure not taking it from the top of the bud which will also mature faster than the rest. Take it from the center of the buds is possible and then record several from the same plant and pull your average feom there. Im seeing a ton of clear tricomes still
I dont suscribe to this as its broscience. 12/12 is the first day of transition to flower. There are metabolic changes happening for sure during this period but there is also a reason were not giving bloom nutrients during this phase. The reason they say to add a couple weeks on to the total flowering time given by breeders is because of this 10 to 14 day transition to flower. If you accidently put your plant in 12/12 for one day and then went back to 18/6 the following day the plant isnt going to flower.

Absolutely its all about observation. What i personally do is record day 1 of 12/12 and when i see the very first signs of crowning that day is tagged as day 1 flower. Generally around 11 days from flip. Although i have a Gelato right now that went into 12/12 the exact same day as my Zweet Inzanity in the same tent, same conditions and its literally weeks behind her visually in flower. To look at her you would assume its in week 2 or 3 of flower and if we went off the 12/12 schedule everyone would say shes about ready to harvest without offering pics to go off of. Its baffling me all the way around. So far behind in flower compared to the other plant.
Good to know other’s are getting around 11 days too. Makes me more sure about my plant’s health, I woulda guessed 7 - 14 days so in range

Every descriptor I read verifies I’m in week 6 even though my buds appeared 3 weeks ago. Some would say this is week 3 but I haven’t found a descriptor for week 3 calyx and bud swelling. Week 3 my buds are supposed to be forming by every descriptor I know. That’s why anything other than 12/12 signifier is bro science.
Calling it broscience without science is broscience. The plant is going through a transitional stage for aprx 2 weeks known as the “preflower” stretch. There are metabolic changes happening that are neither flowering or vegetative but plant puberty. Just like a teenager is neither and adult or a child.
Using 12/12 is a solid choice to use for timeline queries but it does not denote when a plant actually hits flower. Just a base of reference of when flowering was initiated
That being said, for autos I would start counting flower on the day you see crowns forming. I have yet to have a plant finish early using that method.
I have found the girls that are ready the Calyx and the little hair are dried up not still green. In my better harvests gives me something to shoot for so I’m not early
