Autoflower... when would you pick them if their internal clock is running out?

A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks

“Here’s another question when dealing with autoflower. Hopefully, anyone will be able to help me. I started some autoflower exactly 70 days ago. There was a time of about 3 weeks in April we didn’t have any sun. The plants suffered big time. I want to let them grow as much as possible, because they are not quite there. Can I make that time up by just letting them go another 3 weeks? The plants are also turning purple. When would you pick them if it was up to you? Remember, they are autoflower I know they have an internal clock. I can see them daily if needs be to make sure bud rot doesn’t set in. Your help would be greatly appreciated.”

purple colouring will no doubt be caused buy the drop in temps that cost you 3 weeks… as for letting her flower more… the time stated for growing auto’s is merely a guideline if you want to TRULY know when she is ready to harvest look at the trichomes  clear trichomes leave her alone… 90% Milky 10% amber if you want a mellow body high and well after that the more amber the better i like 50/50 myself

the only real way to see if they are done is to check the trichomes… You will need a jewelers loupe of magnifier to see them…

Most people try for about 80% cloudy, 20% amber. But it is all personal preference. More amber will give more “couch lock”… Letting them go to long will weaken the THC…

Thanks for the feedback. I’m saying the buds haven’t formed.

@Stash any chance of seeing a pic… It could just be a late bloomer. There is no “set” time on autos, mother nature still has the final say… And what strain is it…

Auto flowers take 4-8 weeks to sprout seedling and veg and then an additional 8 weeks of flowering as an example. Some take more and some less.

At 70 days yours are running a bit behind but not crazy behind.

We come to ilgm @stash

If the buds haven’t formed you just have to wait it out. They will in time.

sorry no pics, but the strain is AK47. They are starting to come around but the buds look kind of leafy.

@Stash they always do at first but without a support ticket or pics of your girl were pretty limited on advice!
