Hello all you growing guru’s
i know that autoflowers are more sensitive to nutrients. And I should only use like 1/2 of what it says on the bottle.
But is it the same for cal/mag - molasses (bud candy) - enzymes - bacteria and fungus??

Hi what’s up man you can give them accordingly but I know they don’t like alot of nitrogen but molasses start low I give them 5ml to a litre of water ( sorry don’t know how much that is where you are I’m from South Africa) and in flowering I go up until 8-10ml per litre but you can adjust just watch the leaves for burn if it does flush it for a week also depends on your strain
Damn that is alot of molasses! I give mine only 2ml/L because thats what it says on the bottle…
I would stick to 1/2 strength for a couple/few weeks, and see how they go. You can increase/decrease throughout the grow. Important thing to remember with autos is that they can get finicky. Recovery time for any hiccups can put a damper on development.
You can even use coconut water diluted 50ml to a litre and use as a foilerspray it’s full of potassium and phosphorus and other good stuff just get 100% and not the juice.
This run im in now is the first time using cal/mag. Would you also go 1/2 with that?
I would. Calmag issues usually start by showing lack of Nitrogen indicated by yellowing of leaves.
I personally think this is a myth, with that said I would tread lightly starting off if you’re using FF trio any other nutrient line I recommend the feeding schedule. I grow both autos and photo period plants and treat them the same ![]()
To piggy back on what @OGIncognito said. I always have an auto or 2 in rotation with my photos. They are exposed to the same everything, temp/rh, nutrients, feeding schedule, lighting. Everything I do with autos is the same as my photos as far as environmental and feeding.
I can say that I have followed my nutrient instructions to a T and i have had zero issues with my dwc auto.
So when you grow both autos and photos. Do you water till runoff and when its under 1.0 EC you start feeding slowly til you get a little burned tips?
An EC of 1.0 is low Growmie, I keep a constant feed cycle at 1.6-2.0 EC and yes to liberal run off to expel the salts from the previous feeding ![]()
I wouldn’t say they’re sensitive to nutrients. But with auto flowers less can definitely be more
I know for me by utilizing advanced nutrients if I feed at 50% of what they recommend from start to finish you can throw your pH/ppm meter in the garbage can.
If you’re growing your auto flowers inside of a 3-5 gal pot, if you use calmag at…
3 gal pot / add 225ppm
5 gal pot / add 300ppm
Every time you feed and you’ll never get a calcium deficiency.
Bud Candy (a better choice than molasses)
3 gal pot / add 4 ml per gal of H20
5 gal pot / add 5 ml per gal of H20
Enzymes, microbial, fugi, and humic acid it’s always a safe bet to use the manufacturers recommendation on these additives.
My last auto run, I went back to the basics. Bottom hale of the pot I used FFSF, then FFOF. 25% perlite 75% soil. Hollow out the middle. Enough to fit a red cup in it, and fill that with FFHF. I only mist around the seedlings until they get their 2nd set of leaves. Just water until week 5. From that point on, I mixed 1 gall of water with a teaspoon of Jacks part A and Jacks part B. Used that mix with every feeding. Plants turned out great. Never got any nute burn. Plant stayed super healthy til chop. Here’s the top cola of the skunk plant.
I grow in 7 gallon fabric pots and i use rainwater🤙
I have 6 autoflowers. All in same type of soil. Plagron lightmix. + 10% worm hummus and 20% perlite. And i have runoff from 2.1 ec to 3.8 ec.
Wouldn’t it be to early to feed with ec 2.0
You can start to feed at 2.0 runoff.
Try to maintain a 2.0ec runoff and 6.5 ph
A good testing runoff is several cups being caught approximately 15% to 20%
When working with that many girls you should document all your feeds going in and out. Keeping records crucial in growing
Yes wait until the run off dips below 2.0, I personally would start feeding once that gets around 1.6 ![]()
I definitely need to write things down😃 impossible to remember!
