Hi dear ones, I’m having an easy time with my second grow so far! Growing these beauties is so cool. But she’s getting bushy! I’m wondering if anyone has experience with beginning LST sort of late. She’s began flowering like a week ago. They say this strain finishes fast, in 10 weeks. Still reasonably bendable near the top but the stem is sturdy down low. I don’t want to risk doing something bad especially since I’ve never done this before. Any tips are most welcome.
Just my two cents but I think you can 100% lst. I also think you can do a LITTLE trimming of those fan leaves to get more light to the bottom if needed. But yes, LST won’t hurt it at this stage.
Just an idea, instead of trying to pull down the whole plant, take certain stems and tie those down. You should have more room to get the main stem down at that point.
I also agree with @OooWee1184 . However, you should ask yourself why would you? Is there a height issue? Trying to get better light penetrating?
I would pull the side stems out and down to open her up. Then you can see the space you have to train the main cola.
I did emergency lst my first grow due to height issues. I’m not sure what the impact was; she was 3 weeks into flowering. I made so many mistakes on they grow that the lst was probably the least problematic. She bent over quite easily from the top. Do it gradually. I’ve read where some people roll the stem between their fingers until the fibers before loose and flexible allowing to bend very easily.
