Auto Light Period

I did same thing. Check your Walmart if they a water kiosk that sells ro water. If you bring your own container it’s .39 per gallon. Also the Walmart brand spring water has lower ppm’s than the filtered water. :+1:

@Bulldognuts
They do have a kiosk. I have already checked on that and i have a couple of the 5 gallon water jugs. This is going to sound crazy but the only reason i never used the kiosk is because i was worried about a cap for the container. I really guess it dont matter.

Vapor pressure deficit, thanks @TommyBahama

You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for the chart.

My humidity is way too low i know that now by looking at the chart.
What can i do to raise the humidity?
I have a small fan that runs continuously. Then i have the exhaust fan. I have a duct coming in with no fan for fresh air.

Humidifier, try to slow exhaust, anything like that.

I’ve used 24/0 for the first month then 20/4. I’ve also used 20/4 for the entire grow. There wasn’t noticeable difference. I agree on the rest period.

Someone suggested 12-18. 12 is lower than anything I have ever seen suggested. Most people suggest 18+. Most research shows it’s all about the watts and hours per day. The more watts, the more hours, the more yield. All other things being equal of course.

I’ve always heard 12/12 for autos that’s what drew me to switch from photo

I hate to sound cheap but will one of the Vicks vaporizer/ humidifier work?
The seedlings are looking a lot better since I cut back to 18/6 light cycle.

Probably on the short term. They don’t really have any control, and you don’t want so much moisture it’s dripping down the walls either.

Where can I find a decent one at a decent price with controls?

I would think you could find some deals locally if you look around. We should be getting out of humidifier season and into dehumidifier season.

You should check Walmart, like @dbrn32 said you may be able to get one on mark down. Just a heads up try to get one that is evaporative rather than ultrasonic one. The utrasonic ones will leave a fine white residue on everything in tent. Also if you get a evaporative one you should buy some antibacterial solution for it. I know Walmart sales it specifically for humidifiers. If you don’t use some interior of humidifier will get slimy. The solution will also help preserve filter and it will last longer. One more thing to consider is a controller such as Inkbird humidifier controller. They have them on Amazon.

An ultrasonic humidifier will be fine as long as you put distilled water or reverse osmosis water in it.
In my 2x4 tent (which I see you have) I use a Comfort Zone 1-Gallon Digital Ultrasonic Humidifier that I picked up at my local hardware store. I like that is has a digital humidity setting and it just turns on an off as needed, keeping the humidity exactly where I want it.
I use a combination of ultrasonic and evaporative in my larger tents, and digital ultrasonic in my drying area, where humidity is also key.

I almost forgot about this cheap method I used in the past when I needed to increase humidity but didn’t have an extra humidifier. This worked great for me until I was able to go purchase another humidifier.
NOTE: This method can only be used if you do not have a temperature issue in your tent. If your tent runs hot, this method is not a good idea for you.
You can get one of those cheap mechanical outlet timers. You can plug your exhaust fan into it and set it for 15 minutes on, 15 off, 15 on, 15 off, etc. It will make the humidity rise significantly because it isn’t pulling as much dry air into the tent.

Thanks for the info. Didn’t know that ro or distilled would prevent build up.

Growing autos has been an experience and every grow has been a lesson. I grow ten at a time and this is how I do it.

I have a bedroom with 12 1200watt LED (cheap kind) and two rows of 5 plants. I have a bathroom exhaust type fan in between all of the plants on the deck and it is vented through the ceiling. Ceiling fan runs on medium all the time. Temperature is usually between 85-90 and humidity is 35-50% (needs to come up) This is my set up.

I don’t use nutrients anymore because they are a PITA. I use 5 gallon cloth pots. For soil I use the FFOF mixed with Living Earth supper soil. This does not require any other nutrients, you will burn your plants. My water is from the ground here and ph is 6.8-7. Water every two or three days and do nothing else.

I tried the 24 hour light schedule and had no improvement so I run 6/18. They seem to like it and it is better on the light bill. You don’t need to run the veg/bloom separately and if temps allow run them both. More light is better. Autos don’t care about the light differences. As the plant sucks all of the green out of the leaves, pick them off and be prepared to tie limbs up because they get heavy and break.

I am not a pro and only have grown one outdoor plant last summer. I like the autos, I should get about 30oz every 3 to 4 months.
