Lmao! Young padawan! I think it’s like you said before that there’s still a little water at the bottom of the pot then I watered again with fairly cold water. I only water every 5 or so days when the pots feel light. I know there is still water in the bottom of the pot but not much. I guess next time I’ll let it dry out more? Not sure. The last time I watered before this they drooped for like 5 days. I’ve never entirely soaked the pot so I’m really not sure. And my ph pens wouldn’t calibrate so I ordered an apera 60z. I don’t want to risk incorrect ph this far in. It just makes me nervous that Everytime I water they get goofy. And I still don’t know if I should water Everytime with the nutes or on and off. This water schedule throws me off. @LiesGrows ever heard anything like this? Always appreciate the info guys thank you.
Roughly how much water are you using at a time rather it be with nutrients or just plain water typically when they droop that much its from over watering and the roots not having enough oxygen in the root zone they will also droop similarly when they arent watered enough and the soil is to dry when using salt based nutrients its important to water/feed with a 20-30% run off rate
So I’ve been feeding when the pots get pretty light and maybe 1/2 gallon or so for each plant. I’m in 5 gallon fabrics. Then it’s usually 5 or so days when they get light again I water again. Same amounts. Never really get runoff. First time feeding was 4 or 5 days ago and they are fairly light again. They definitely grew considerably after the feeding. I use coco loco and they say not to feed until about 4 weeks to use up the nutes already in it. I know there is a little water in the bottom of the pots when I water again. But first few inches on top anre definitely dry. I’m nervous because all I’m seeing is overwatering and underwatering. Any info is appreciated.
My personal opinion allow the pots to fully dry back to where they begin to droop then lift the pot to get a reference of what the pot feels like when fully dry then mix your nutrients and feed to run off i recommend 20-30% run off they may droop some after that feeding wich would be typical due to the medium being at full saturation but they shouldn’t stay droopy by the next morning they should be perked up if they arent then something else is going on in the root zone that we can address from there also coco loco does NOT have enough nutrients for 3-4 weeks and its all plant dependent some plants will use up those nutrients quick some can take longer but in all reality Coco Loco has enough for 2 maybe 3 weeks
Ok. Their probably 30% ish I’d have to guess. So I’ll give it a few more days. Then water until about 30% runoff. I’ll test the ph then too. Got it. As for the coco loco I did the first feeding at 3 weeks just in case. They seem to be fine although they have gotten one shade lighter green for some reason. I did some light defol this afternoon hopefully I didn’t mess anything up. I’ll definitely try the watering game when they dry a little more and hopefully make it easier for me. Thanks a ton. I appreciate all the info and tips.
So the WW strain was bone dry but the other 3 still have a tiny bit of weight. Definitely less than last time I fed them but not weightless like the WW was today. I guess I’ll wait a few more days before I feed the others. I did get run off and tested. Not sure what it all means. Just got a apera pc-60z so I’m trying to figure out the conversions. Not good at the techy stuff. Wish me luck and again thanks for all your help.
Hi I’m new here but I was wondering my my plants are drooping so bad I read that cold water might cause it or overwatering I’ve got 4 cheese plants in a 5by5 mars hydro grow tent with a fc6500 grow light and 6inch exhaust fan system I planted seeds in dirt around September 10th and this is what I’ve got so far temp stays around 68-70 and humidity is around 60 percent any tips are greatly appreciated
Welcome aboard. When you say dirt, care to elaborate.
Plants droop prior to lights off and on. Being thirsty, overwatering.
Dirt and soil, i recommend lifting a dry pot getting used to that feel, the weight of the pot. After watering, lift that pot. Feel the weight. Half gal is 4 lbs, huge weight difference.
Do not water until the pot is dry and light again. Some pictures would show alot.
Welcome aboard.
Too many factors not known. Soil type, living soils are not my area but do know they require to be moist.
Details of your grow enable others to pinpoint your issue if any.
Pictures of your plants would be nice.
I’m sorry about that my soil is fox farms ocean forest I normally water every 2-3 days and I water until I’m getting run off which normally takes 2 16 fl water bottles per plant is that too much or not enough
Sorry I forgot to upload these pics yesterday when I posted this is only my second grow and I thought things might be smoother this time but it seems as if every batch has its own quirks though I do feel a bit more confident this time I just hope this works out as good or better than my first batch@mosca
If you’re only adding 32oz of water and you’re getting runoff you are not allowing them to dry out enough.
Ok that makes sense I also ordered a moisture meter I’m hoping that willhelp
Those two prong 3in1 meters will cause you problems
Well dam I think the one I got is a single prong are those ok or just avoid those meters altogether
Avoid them all together, very inaccurate.
With soil you want good wet to dry cycles leaning more in the dry side. They will tolerate drier conditions better than wet.
Im growing in fabric bags myself for the first time. Ive discovered that its harder to get them to dry out proper for a wet/dry cycle. ive started keeping a fan blowing on my pots. despite my best effort ive got me a fungus gnat problem this grow.
i would say stick ur finger down into the soil and if u feel any moisture or wetness, give it another day, an check again
My first grow was with the mars hydro fabric 5gal bags I didn’t really have any problems with that but I tried a different fabric it’s a square pot this time and it seems thinner
Switch (next grow) to rain science woven plastic mesh bags, make sure your mix has 25-30% perlite and worry about it no more. Mosquito bits soaked overnight in your next watering or two should get the gnat larvae under control and sticky traps from Amazon for the ones flying. Some people recommend DE but it only really works when it’s dry and it’s messy so I don’t personally use dusting to control.
