New to growing. Sad and need help

I have two plants growing in an indoor 4x2 tent. They’ve been in there for about 4 weeks and have been doing really well up until the last couple days. I’m starting to notice that they are starting to turn yellow and are drooping quite a bit as compared to the way they were before. I have them in coast of Maine Stonington with a viparspectra light and on AC Infinity auto watering pots. Please help put my mind at ease

Your plant doesn’t look all that bad and drooping is normal, particularly around watering time or lights on/off.

Your light isn’t enough to flower 2 plants, though 1 plant would do fine under your light.

Yellowing among new growth is normal and chlorophyll will fill in a darker green within a few days, though new growth will always be a lighter shade of greeen.

You may have some deficiencies, but it’s not possible to diagnose without understanding what runoff pH and PPM are. I use an Apera PC60 which measures both pH and PPM. Bluelab also makes great meters. Your pH should be between 6.3 and 6.8 and PPM should be near ~1,000.

What products are you feeding your plant with? Cannabis has very specific requirements.

I will purchase a meter to check the water.

I used 5 tbsp Gaia green all purpose mixed with the bloom topdressed. I put small amount of cal-mag into the water the last couple waterings

I’m not familiar with Gaia Green, but there are plenty of growers here in the forum that are familiar with it.

What power of light should I be using in a 4x2x7 sized tent?

360 watts minimum. 400 would be better. I run 1,100 watts per plant and get these results.

Beautiful! Any recommendations on brand or specific light?

HLG and AC Infinity make great lights. Spider Farmer and Mars Hydro make okay lights, but you have to be careful with what you are selecting. They are a budget option.

Look for lights built with Samsung LM301 diodes.

I recommend HLG (Horticulture Lighting Group.) I have several of their lights. I had a power supply go bad and they FedExed a new power supply to me for next day delivery. All I had to do was give them the serial number on the bad power supply so they could make a claim against Meanwell, the power supply manufacturer. HLG lights are top-notch and service is fantastic, though rarely needed.

Soil does look a little dry to me. I agree with HLG light source they are awesome. Plants look good should be a really nice grow when you get dialed in. Welcome to the community these growers are very knowledgeable and the best from all over the world. Congratulations on your grow

I have two Spider Farmer SF1000 lights that I was going to use in other tents down the road. Could I use both of those in the 4x2 until I can gather enough coin for the HLG?

You sure can

A couple more pictures. They look a lot more perky today but are starting to develop brownish yellow spots on some of the leaves.

welcome aboard @Beckmanniscool. It looks you might have fed a little too soon. 5 gal of good organic soil will get you quite a ways. What is your water source? It’s probably time to top dress with a little bloom mix. It can help when your top dress to add a little high quality compost and or worm castings along with the amendment. This will add a little nutrition, but more impotently it brings microbes to the party to break down all that organic matter into plant soluble nutrients. A quality EC/PH meter is always a good investment, but a lot of organic soil growers don’t use them as they can be misleading in an organic grow. If you have good soil and good water there is no need to test. The soil and biology in the soil will do what they do. The meter would still be useful to check water quality or if you ever wanted to try a different medium.

Wow that’s a lot for one plant. Are you running plasma lamps with that much juice?

I need to correct that statement. It’s 1,100 PPFD rather than 1,100 watts. Thanks for pointing it out.

I run 3 HLG 135 panels to get to 1,100 PPFD.

Ah, that makes sense now

My typing fingers and my brain aren’t always 100% connected when writing. I make a lot of syntax and spelling mistakes when typing. Due to this I always proof read them before the editing window expires, but I missed it this time.

It happens to me all the time too, even if I do read it three times.

Hello! I’m using spring water from store. I am going to get one of those meters next week but for now the plants are just looking very sad and I think I was definitely overwatering them due to not understanding how to use the watering base. I am waiting for the base to dry all the way out and then I will water them again and just wait for the base to empty each time. I did put some bloom nutrition up on the top about 3 days ago right before I realized that I wasn’t watering them correctly and now it seems like it’s kind of just hanging out on the top and there seems to be a decent sized gap that is growing between the top layer of soil and the underside. The underside seems to be pretty moist still. I’m also noticing on one of the ladies that a lot of flowering is beginning to start, but to me, the plant doesn’t look like it’s ready for it. Stressing pretty hard honestly
