Spring water is great. I’ve never used auto watering bases so I’m not sure there. Autos just flower when they feel like it. There’s nothing to stress about. Just let her do her thing.
Hello im Connor and im super new to growing. For my first time ill be growing outside and plants will be growing in pots since i live in an apartment on the 2nd floor. Ive been reading through a lot of posts and even with those im a bit lost because all the language sounds foreign to me, so im a true beginner. Just ordered my firat set of seeds which have not arrived yet. I live in ohio(midwest) so weather is very unpredictable. I did do my research on the strains i bought as far as weather climate and they are autoflower seeds, all with growth time of 75-90 days. Im aware of the germination process but after that im pretty much lost. I need to know what type of soil and container to plant them in once germination is complete and when to move them from a small.pot to a big pot. ANY HELP OUT THERE FOR ME?
Do you think that this plant looks okay? Seems to have stopped drooping all together but the yellow is not going to go away and it appears as though there isn’t very much new growth. Is this what flowering looks like?
They definitely look hungry. Have you dressed with a bloom amendment yet? They look like they are a few weeks into flower already. You are probably getting close to the end of the flower stretch and won’t see much more in the way of new growth. The buds will start getting bigger and fatter then ripen, but the vertical growth is close to done.
welcome to the forum @ConnorW. The fist thing I would recommend is to check out a few different grow journals. I’ll tag you in mine if you want to see what I’m up to. That will get your user trust level up high enough to make your own topic so we can follow your grow and help as you need it. You have found a great resource here. If you have questions, no one is going to belittle you for being a novice or not knowing any better, so please ask away. We are all here to learn and improve. If you want to get a particular users attention yo can use the “@” symbol followed by their user name. For example @ConnorW or @Gl1tch. I’m happy to help you out wherever I can.
There are lots of different options when it comes to medium, nutrients, and grow methods. Reading a few journals might also help you identify what you would like to try first. If your looking for something dead simple I would recommend a living soil route. If you have any more questions tag me and I will try to get back to ya.
Awesome! I did add the bloom amendments two days ago. I look forward to seeing what happens from here. I will definitely keep following you on these boards and hopefully you’ll be okay with me consulting you here and there in the future!! Thank you so much for paying attention to these kind of boards and helping people like myself.
Anytime, I’m happy to help. If you have some unsulfered molasses you can add a little to some water and it might help speed up the breakdown of those organic compounds. It’s kind of like a stimulant for the microbes that break down the organics. Not sure how it would work with auto pots, but you could always let them dry a little then water from the top with your molasses water and wait to fill the bases till they need water again.
At a glance it looks like you are getting there but still have a week or so before the harvest window and then you could have as much as another 3 weeks depending on how ripe you want your buds… I usually look for 95% of the pistils to turn red. Then I use a pocket microscope to look at the trichs themselves and use that to fine tune the exact day to cut. If you have a good camera on your phone some of them work at max zoom but you need one of the higher end phones and I still think a $30 microscope is an easier option if you can spare a couple bucks.
one way or another those are looking like some nice nugs
Great! When you say 95% to red, would you mean throughout the entirety of all of the buds? Because I am seeing certain buds on the plant that are already at that 95% red. Another question I have is would I be able to cut some of the buds that look to be done and leave some of the others to finish? Thanks again for being great
