Are they in veg? Ready for nutes?

Hello everyone. Thanks again for all the support, you guys’ rock! My first babies are looking much fuller and after I transplanted them into 5 gal cloth bags as recommended. Used a mix of 1 part perlite and 3 parts FFHF. RO water. I assume the yellow leaves are from over watering. They sprouted 4 weeks ago. Are they in veg mode? Should i start my fox farm trio at 25% along with calmag because I use RO water? Light intensity and distance using a marshydro tsl 2000. Any advice with the listed questions would help tremendously.

Ya you are beginning to veg just go real easy on nutes at first and build up

Thanks Medicineman33. Ok, so when they say to measure the water run off, do i water enough to soak all the soil and to run off even though it’s a big pot and small plant?

This is just me, but I wouldn’t worry about measuring ppm right now. I wouldn’t soak the entire pot. Plants to small for that right now. Jus water around it a little. I don’t think you need to worry about runoff. I grow organic so I don’t have to worry about ppm, so others may have different advice.

IMO you should hold off on any nutes for another couple of weeks: HF has enough nutrients to carry it that far and your plant has not completely occupied your medium so there’s still goodness in the soil. R/O plus cal mag might not hurt though.

Once you start feeding it would be wise to monitor input and output PH and TDS: this will tell you when to feed and when to water. Personally I would water until soil medium is damp then allow to dry before watering again. This will help the plant produce copious roots which will only help you in flower.

I start with the soil thoroughly moistened, so for me, that plant would just now be getting it’s first real watering. The roots have just barely started stretching out yet.

Also agree that your soil should be fine for a couple more weeks.

I would say you’re in week 2 of veg and looking good. Nutrients not needed for 3-4 more weeks just PHd water at 6.5 :love_you_gesture:

I wait till the plant’s width/girth is slightly wider than the container. Then slowly start feeding.

What is that jug thing you have there in the back?

Thanks everyone. I won’t feed them for a couple of weeks. But when i do, and go off of the FF feeding chart, do i start with the first week of feeding? or the actual age of the plant and jump to that feeding? My question sounds asinine. And that jug in the back is a Inkbird reptile humidifier which is hooked to the inkbird humidity switch controller.
