I’ve heard so much conflicting information about praying leaves. I’ve heard it means things are perfect, I’ve heard it means it’s searching for light, I’ve heard it means it’s thirsty. My newest growth is praying hard in these pictures.
My concern is that I just measured the ppfd and it’s at 1250. I’m not sure how long it’s been so high, it’s been growing very rapidly and closer to the light. I hate to change anything because it’s never looked better, but I’ve always heard 1200 should be too much. Think I should I tone it down?
2x2, soil, 150w grow light 12 inches away. Just flipped to 12/12 twelve days ago, just showing pistols as of 3 days ago. No co2 supplement.
Might be worth noting that the top growth was starting to droop at 10am. I watered, and these pictures were taken 4.5 hours later
No concern.. Plant looks great..
Happy Growing..
You can probably bring your ppf down to about 1000 and still look good. Praying leaves are a healthy sign most of the time during veg
For reference, noon time sun ppfd >2000.
Back in the day , all outdoor plants did this at some stage , perfectly normal behaviour for indoors now . It can differ from strain to strain . Purple Myst does it near maturity . I did first think light intensity and turned them down 25% but it continued as they matured . Beautiful health plants brother , relax (a bit) lol . Peace .
This is almost two weeks into flower if that changes anything
2 weeks since flip maybe, she appears to be entering flowering now. Praying leaves are generally a sign of high light levels, not bad, but will be with continued stretch. Outdoor comparisons aren’t really fair for most considering cloudy days or shade here and there where as indoors is controlled and consistent. I’d reduce light considering there should be more stretch to come. Also consider keeping the bottom 1/3rd of your plant cleaned up. Leaves, and bud sites.
Yeah, I’m hoping the stretch ends soon or else I’m going to be in trouble. So you think I should cut everything from the bottom third and down? It’s pretty bare from the bottom fourth. Should I cut another node or two higher?
I’d chop below this line- the growth off of the main branches. if you are concerned with plant height I’d consider super cropping the upper branches. Some can continue stretch 1-3 weeks after entering flower.
Where do you live? Noontime summer sun here. 5 millionppfd. 2 million celsius and rh is negative 350. Indoor it is…lol. Killed my peppers and tomaters dead as a doornail 2 years ago.
You look great. Praying beats wilting all day. As the flowers form those leaves will flatten right out.
@ChittyChittyBangin
Autos need more lighting though, in general right? I haven’t played with many.
@Storm
Literally LOL’d thanks
Honestly i havent grown that many autos. Just going on a whim and a prayer @Low i do know the ones i have are light on the nutes.. i fed just like my photos and they dont like gluttony
LOL they seem to be weirdos I’m sure they’ll be banging like your others. They just don’t handle the same
I really hope it doesn’t come to that. About 2 weeks since switch to 12/12. The light is 12 inches (manufacturer recommendation) from the canopy and in the highest position it can go. Plant stand is sitting on top of two 2x2 pieces of lumber, so I’ve got 4 inches to play with. Hope that’s enough
Assume the worst, consider super cropping before the branches harden off and risk breaking on emergency super cropping during flower. Better to be pro active than reactive.
Maybe @kaptain3d can offer some advice on training.
You’re spot on my friend. Supercropping is the answer here…
NO NOT THE TORTURE TRIALS!!!. Nah supercropping is def the way to proceed NOW if going to have height constraints. Waiting will just make it harder.
Tell me more about your feeding mollases if you dont mind. Ive been wanting to use some on my plants just not sure how to go about it. Thanks in advance
