Are these new seed pods?

This is a CBD Critical Mass. It has grown fine from the start. I notice the buds on this plant at top have been spindly and weird looking, but, all the sudden, I see like a million new white hairs in the buds. It doesn’t look good to me, but, I’m new to growing and don’t know what I’m looking at. Whatever this is, it seems like it happened really fast.

And you’re very first picture they’re not seed pods but they’re definitely foxtails. Pretty common yet slightly annoying. If you raise your light a little bit some say it will stop.

I’ve had entire crops foxtail. I now keep my light a little higher than normal and my current grow nothing is foxtailing.

Foxtailing is common and is not going to hurt anything

I believe genetics has a lot to do with foxtails as well. I had nine Girl scout cookie extreme plants and every single one of them foxtails

Thank you so much for the replies! So, do I wait for the new white hairs to turn orange and recede now or just still go by trichs?
This batch is supposed to be around 8% THC and 8% CBD. I was planning on making bubble hash or some sort of concentrate for edibles with this plant. Will this affect that?

If you’re not familiar with foxtailing and you’re curious as to what the consequences are of getting foxtails it’s basically a visual distraction. Foxtails will not effect the potency of your weed. And yes foxtails are totally smokable. I become to accept foxtails rather than get upset about them. Information it’s common in growing cannabis

In regards to your questions about waiting for the hair to change it’s up to you. If your plant was ready to harvest prior to foxtailing then it would be okay to harvest even though foxtails still have white pistols.

However, you will notice day by day you’re going to get more and more so you really want to keep an eye what’s underneath of that what your tricons

Thank you so much! It’s a relief to know that it is just annoying and doesn’t really bother the plant! I read on here constantly and that is one of the few things I haven’t really done a lot of searching on. Looks like I will now.

As I said before I don’t stress over them. They’re normally nice and dense. You can cut them off and use them in your trim for hash or you can smoke them.

Not sure what type of light you have but you may want to check into the distance of your light at the top cola. As @TransplantedFarmgirl said, it’s an aggressive foxtailing.

Nice plants congratulations on the grow. If your Trichomes are cloudy you can chop when your ready. This community is very knowledgeable and are very helpful with your grow. They have taught me a lot and the success has made me love growing

It’s not so much the distance as it is the intensity of the lights. If you are able to adjust the dimmer settings that will help too. Get a light meter and measure LUX.

It’ll be just fine for whatever you would like to do. :slightly_smiling_face:

You’re absolutely correct. I stand corrected

That looks like an autoflower that is displaying Ruderalis bud structure to me. I had a wedding cake on my first grow that did that. Looks odd but didn’t affect potency.
Here’s is what mine looked like Here
