These are 100% Sativa, Strawberry Cough microscope pics I just took. 1000 watt HPS.
I’m trying to harvest just at the time when I can get a energetic sativa high, no couch lock or the indica type effects. So what I’ve read on ILGM is that you want to chop at mostly milky to the first signs of amber trichomes.
The first 5 photos are from a photoperiod Strawberry Cough, and the second 5 photos are also photo Strawberry Cough, but got a purple color to it based on genetics or a cold snap according to other people’s opinions on ILGM. It may not have higher THC, but it looks really cool.
I don’t want to harvest too early, but I’m seeing some amber trichomes that I don’t think are reflections of the hair color changes. The hairs (pistils right?) are still less than 50% of each bud, many cola tops still have only 20%-30% orange hairs
I do see some ambers in there just make sure they are on bud because the trichomes on the leaves will turn way before the buds are ripe. I take my scope and try following the pistils (hairs) down to the bud because obviously leaves don’t have pistils
I took the photos after wet trimming the buds, no sugar leaves. They are small/medium buds just below the colas. Out of 10 photos, it was 5 or 6 separate flowers.
I could harvest tomorrow, but time-wise with work, I may have to wait until next weekend otherwise.
I am growing photos also and like the energetic way of life. Are the pics of the buds? IMO I would wait a bit longer. looks like they can do a bit of plumping. I love the colors
Another week for a good strong, speedy high.2-3 for high as hell with no paranoia. It’s all a matter of preference. Many breeders exaggerate finish times and yields.
Necro yes I know but Im in exactly the same situarion now with my strawberries. My trichs are almost the same like yours.So you waited 1 week (after you took the pictures) and harvested?
You feel like tou harvested right on time or too early?
