Apple Fritter Auto ILGM grow

I do a 6 to 10 minute soak in peroxide/water then hang to dry before putting through trim and dry/cure. Oils and waxes from cannabis are insoluble in water.

However; NOT washing flower that contains WPM means you will be smoking mildew.

They have a gnat problem at their location. So you know there is bug poo on them. But they also knocked down a shelf that was in that cellar for 120+ years, and dust was visibly coating the fan leaves. So you know that is on the buds too. I am still washing them when i chop them

With all of that, you may want to do a three step wash with first step being a several minute soak in peroxide water like @Myfriendis410 does it. I have a very low tolerance for nasty crap on my buds.

Do you soak both indoor and outdoor for this long? I can certainly see the value for an outdoor plant. For me, indoor it depends upon whether there has been any mold/mildew or pest issues.

Usually indoor plants.

Peroxide dissipates rapidly so no need to rinse.

I saw lots of stuff come off the outdoors. Are indoors as bad?

He was still refusing to believe me. So, i compromised with him and we took some ofcthe branches and didnt wash them. So he can feel the difference.

My thoughts are, when he was squeezing them when they were on the plant, he was touching the top side of the leaf. Now that they have hung upside down, the leaves have curled up leaving the bottoms exposed, so you are naturally going to feel less sticky becuase there is less trichomes on the underside of the sugar leaves.

Here is one of the buds. Its at 10%rh inside with a moisture meter. I told him you have to cure them also. So more waiting lol

That poor guy is dying inside :joy:

Here are some shots of the 4th and 5th plant harvest with some of the first harvest on the front line. You can tell a color difference in the dryer ones.

Has he tried any of the buds yet?

Yes, and was confused as to why they smelled like hay, and tasted funny. Im am giving him one of my grow books that explains about the curing process and how the smell will get better and taste will improve with cure.

He still claims we are ruining them with the wash, no matter how much i say it or show him with the scope the difference.

I would say let him not rinse them. Not really worth trying to convince him because the only one that loses is himself.

My stuff is rinsed out of the stuff. I will happily take the “ruined” ones!

Golly, seems like he should’ve grew it himself? I know you’re doing your best. I’ve seen the work you put in. It’s so frustrating when you’re the doing something for someone and they’re the expert.

What @SausageMahoney said.

So if I understand correctly, a guy that doesn’t grow thinks he knows better that a forum full of growers that have been at it for years…

Not worth your time my friend!

You are indoors. My outdoors budwash had so much stuff on the waters surface afterwards that I was so glad I did it.

Regardless of indoors or outdoors, washing does not ruin the buds. I suppose you might debate whether it improves them but no real damage.

Funny how “purist” will diss your buds because you washed them… but will sing the praises for dispensary stuff that have been sprayed with all kind of :poop: …

I just knew my outdoors had bird poop, bug poop, spider webs, pine needles, Jimmy Hoffa and all sorts of junk in it. I would guess indoors still get stuff in them, though likely less?
