Heard about it, never tried it.
That was east coast sati?
It was skunk I was kind of young and not too educated on the difference between indica and sativa. Hell I would just get tore up from the floor up ![]()
I remember the first time I tried skunk…
I went from loving it to being terrified in a matter of minutes! ![]()
Now, I spend my days in the basement, researching weed that will give me a heart attack.
I found stroke weed…
Not good enough!! ![]()
Awww, crap.
I don’t have a basement…
Where have I been hanging out the past 30 years… ![]()
That’s because back then, virtually everything was grown outdoors. Growing sinsemilla in quantity outdoors was extremely labor intensive, because you had to closely monitor sex and cull the males.
I remember sinsemilla, but back then, I had no idea what it was.
Back then?! ![]()
First weed I ever smoked was Thai weed. Buds tied up with hemp strands. Been smoking ever since. I can still remember the smell of it. That’s crazy. The skunkweed in Tennessee was a game changer for me. Went full bore production mode . Which brings up the heartbreak of losing Dolly. RIP Sweet Songbird. The best weed I ever smoked was the laughing weed from Michoaxaca. Ended up driving into the ditch several times during uncontrollable laughing fits. The weed seems to have been lost from the planet. Its just nowhere to be found. P
@RightAway , never tried it…
But I remember a drive to Senators Wash over the San Bernadino Mts, back in late 70’s.
Smoking weed and smoking mushrooms, middle of the night in Dru Pup the True Pups 68 Nova.
To this day, I’ve never heard of anyone smoking mushrooms. Tasted like popcorn.
We all looked up and screamed at the same time, off the asphalt at a high rate of speed, almost on top of a road sign on a dark winding road.
Never laughed so hard in my life!
Life lesson: don’t do that.
Lots of nostalgia and great memories in this thread!! I’d genuinely never heard of it never mind seen it until the other day. Lots of seeds to pick out which was a new experience. But rate it highly. Not old enough to know how things were back in the day but often do wish we lived in an era where weed was a bit weaker. Most of the strains I see now are usually a bit too high in THC for me to truly enjoy. Saw this graphic the other day and it made a lot of sense…
When I started smoking again (which is only last year). I found a lot of the strains just got me to f’d up and realized I really didn’t like that. There was a strain in Vegas called Chloe and I really liked the buzz as long as I didn’t over do it, and tried Purple Haze that my cousin grew and liked that too. So I went on a mission and created a spreadsheet and put in the THC % along with the percentages of the terps in Chloe and Purple haze. Then purchased a lot different strains that had similar profiles as the two I liked. When I got high I put in how quick it hit, what I was feeling and how long it lasted. I kept notes throughout the high and at the end decided if I liked that strain. Now I have a list of ones that I like and 2 hits are the perfect high for me. They are Chloe, Purple Haze, Florida Wedding, The Soap, Tropicana Cherry, Jack Herer and Peaches and Cream. Florida Wedding is my all time fav… My next grow is going to be that.
Not saying your need to do what I did, but in today’s cannabis world, they are all SO different and for me in order to find what I like and didn’t like the spreadsheet helped.
Here’s a snippet of if.
Here’s all the ones that made me too f’d up.

Sorry, that was a long post!
Love this soooooo much. I’ve had experiences with strains in the past that I’ve found and thought I absolutely love it - a certain ketama hash in Amsterdam years ago comes to mind. Never made notes on it though and haven’t since but guess I might start doing it - as you say the differences can be so big that it’s like we’re discussing a different drug at times
I used to find mixing CBD strains in always made my high more enjoyable too. But yeah a lot of the stuff out there now I just try and avoid
Through the years I’ve found that if you only take a couple of draws you won’t get f-d up. I do appreciate the high level of THC. The sweet taste is definitely worth the wait. If you harvest a little early it’s not enough. The Colombian Gold I enjoyed was awesome. And would get you “Tore Up From the Floor Up.
Watching the news and our government has brought the USS Lincoln aircraft carrier into Thailand for some rest and relaxation and they’ve just said lady boys and prostitutes are OK but parasailing and cannabis is off-limits to the sailors. What a deal huh
Makes sense!
