Hey growmies has anyone ever transplanted during flower or week or so after 12/12 flip? I’m debating transplanting this one Colombian gold photo. Because of them being a regular photo I went with 3 gallon pots and lo and behold there both female! The one is getting huge and I noticed roots coming out the bottom already. If I cut the fabric bag off and drop into a bigger 5 or 7 gallon bag will she survive? I kinda want to try, but I don’t want to lose her either. Will she make it a long flower period in the pot she’s in? im expecting around 12 weeks . @OGIncognito @ChittyChittyBangin @kellydans
You can leave the bag on and just drop the whole thing in a bigger vessel with your medium. The roots have proven strong enough to keep going past the bag. Plus it’ll avoid transplant shock.
I didn’t even think about that! I could slice up the sides of it and make sure the roots make it through and into a bigger pot.
Badabing badaboom!!!
Thanks brother appreciate you
I was going to advise the same thing
Nice plants, Never transplanted that late in the game. But if I did I would take a raiser knife and sacrifice the Fabric pot And gently set down into a bigger pot.
Good luck @Shaggy1987
That’s interesting. Will be following . . .
Love the Growth Brother and digging the old school strain. Personally 3 gallon bags is all I grow in but like @Borderryan22 suggestion. This roots will air prune and produce more time feeder roots
No need to slice the bag. Roots grow right through. You can see your own roots are already growing through. You don’t need to ruin a grow bag. Slicing it wont do any better than just setting it into a larger one.
Growmies have you covered but I wanted to answer the original question. I would normally never transplant during flower.
Wouldn’t want to interrupt the magic but one time I had no choice. She was not happy so I very carefully transplanted her in the 3rd week of flower. Here are the pics.
She responded well and quickly and loved the increase in pot size even though it wasn’t a big change.
So as a last option it can be done. Will I do it again? Hope not. Good luck and stay lit!!
Well I decided to fully transplant one and sliced the top half off the other and buried. My OCD wouldn’t let me just bury the other pot and still be able to see it ! So we shall see. My next question is since they’ve been dropped in fresh soil and are starting to button up should I give them anything extra? Runoff ppms were around 3000 on those 2. I’m going to be using Jacks 4:2 this run. Or do I just wait until ppms drop under 1000 or so? Front left are the 2 Colombians, the one on the bucket is the fully transplanted one. Got them all somewhat even canopy wise, now I need to add another light with the 200r or swap that for Mara hydro sp3000 on the 2 smaller gals. The 200r just doesn’t have the coverage for both.
I would feed only water and develop aflush schedule to assist her at getting down. Most importantly monitor IN/OUT numbers PH/PPMs.
For the transplant lady, less light while she recovers, IMO.
