I know there’s a lot of questions about this around the internet, but I’m seeking tips from the ILGM community.
I’ve got a 4x2 with 3 flowering plants. I want to make room for some new ones. Can I move the very slow AK47 auto outdoors to take it’s time to finish? It must have another month, at least. I don’t think it will amount to much weight, even if I left it in the tent. It’s been odd since sprout. I’ve read you need to wash the buds in a peroxide mix before you hang them? Are there any other things I should be prepared for before I make the decision?
@Lacewing any thoughts from a pro outdoor grower ? (this is the plant that has that weird issue no one could figure out. Still losing leaves to it but all is well, just slow bud growth.)
I wouldn’t be against putting it outside if you want to make room …thanks for the compliments, I’m flattered but I am a complete noob and should let the real knowledge answer about the move to outdoors …
I just generally have a green thumb from years of childhood forced gardening by my mother …
And I have luck and lacewings !!
Even tho I have never harvested anythjng in my life yet …I plant to wash any bud I harvest indoors or out …with fans indoors man …particles of anything will find their way into our prized button top sticky hairs …after all it’s their job to catch pollen …
I would only be concerned as to the fact that it’s going to go from one environment to another really quick …
Maybe do a preliminary environment test …
Take one of your hydrometers into where it is now and where you plan to put it …see how different that is ….
Or just go rouge Barbarian amd leave it to nature if you are adventurous and see if you can help it stay alive ? Lots of options …wish it were me …
Hope the real pros come soon and I’m watching to learn along with ya !!
Never thought about washing buds from an indoor grow. You mentioning that made me cringe as I have litter boxes in the basement where my tent is. That can’t be good. I keep them very clean but they do create some dust. Nasty. Guess I need to look up the washing process. Seems like it would make the bud very wet and ruin some quality, but I have no idea.
I think I may just try it. I know pests will be an issue but the plant is underwhelming me and I could take or leave it at this point. My others are looking great and I want to get another 3 started ASAP.
Thanks, your stuff is looking great. I’ve been following along. I noticed you have them growing within sight of your neighbor. Is that legal there? In VA they have to be out of sight with the new legalization law. They also can’t be in reach of “children” but who can accomplish that with an outdoor grow.
Lol ….well
Ughhh errmmm….I kind of thought I was doing good to keep it out of sight …
I live in this state that …somehow it’s recreationally legal …but growing it is a felony …
I have really cool neighbors …and you can’t see it from the street or even from below if you are in the neighbors yards …
There is one spot that my neighbor to the left can see from his window …
He is cannabis friendly
It just seems I’m out in the open I guess from this perspective …
I’m hoping sooner than later it’s legal to grow ….there’s a bill trying to be passed to allow home grow for medical and recreational in the state
In the meantime I’m keeping my fingers crossed …but truthfully I’m probably in the clear …as the only size increase going forward is the flowers …
I somehow managed that above so many other challenges as a noob …but I really have to say …this place …without it .
Wouldn’t have happened …they’d be overgrown and looking like a sore thumb over the railing …or dead from me not realizing what the plant needs …
Also pretty cool on the weather station …wonder if the difference will make a difference …I say put it on out there then if you can take or leave it …
I’m being honest I do not know the reason behind it
When I voted yes to the ballot question in November I just assumed weed was going to be legal in all capacity and I planned to start growing since jan 1st weed was legal …do you know that in this state there still isn’t a single dispensary legal for recreational weed …only medical …you can gift people an oz a day …
And you can carry 6oz on you legally …yet the maximum allowable allotment the state will allow a medical patient is 3oz a month?
Like I’m sorry but re-read that …let that sink in …
Someone with a medical need is only allowed 3 Oz a month ,yet a recreational citizen can have 6oz a day …I think if you have a terminal illness here you can apply for unlimited amount without restrictions
Such a corrupt system and makes zero sense …and I hate to say it and I will not start a convo about the subject here but it’s money and politics …it’s not about being treated like it’s actually prescribed medicine
That alone is sad and all I will say …
Every other state that has legalized I think allows home grow at least on a medical level …
I was going to suggest what @HMGRWN said. Only reason i “know” that, is i started my plants (PHOTOS, not auto) inside under lights then moved them to full sun outside and I think it was a good week before i saw any growth occurring again. I think it was too much too fast. I won’t say they were wilted but you could tell it “affected” them at first for a few days. by CHANCE, i put a screen door over top of the trailer they were sitting on to protect from TORRENTIAL rains forecasted (which DID come eventually, lol) and that screen acted like a “shade” if you will, cutting a lot of the sunlight evidently and i just happened to notice it was doing that watching them for a couple days (worrying, lol). Anyway, few hours morning GOD light, few hours shaded outside light in heat of day, then from say 4 on i’d give’em that GOD light Once you see they’re taking well to it give that GOD light all day long Happy growing, following along
