Any Thoughts on this? $7.99 so I bought it

No fertilizer or feeding required, Just 6.2-6.4PH water going in until outflow measures under 1400PPM. Keep an eye on the PH coming out.
Good growing to you

I’ve never gave it that much water.:disappointed:
Thanks @DEEPDIVERDAVE

Run-off water needs to be after the first cup or two has been thru the pot.
They say.
What was the soil before the addition of fertilized-feed water? (last time?)

For a 5 gallon pot it takes 1 gallon plus one cup to run off sufficient run off of approx 20%

What’s very strange to me is that you have a plant that’s been in the soil for 50 plus days and still has a runoff number of 4781ppm

As @DEEPDIVERDAVE said do not water with any nutrients anymore.

What type of soil are you using? How long is that plant been in that soil?

That’s the first time I ever checked it. Just water and the soil is Purple Cow.

Its been in that soil I would say 45-46 days.

I started it in a clear solo cup. With this stuff.

I’m not familiar with the soil. It must be incredibly pre-charged with nutrients. (But that’s okay it saves you money)

You have at least another 30 days worth of not having to use nutrients. (That’s a guess) The 4781 ppms are how much nutrients are left in your soil. (It’s a lot)

Keep watering with your tap water PH to 6.5 at 1 gallon and 1 cup per watering. (So you get your 20% runoff) Keep a document of your number from your runoff both pH and PPM.

You may want to consider purchasing other nutrients as that ā€œfruit of the loomā€ nutrients are going to be too weak when it comes time to start feeding.

Once your ppms from your runoff start running off at 1,000 ppms it’s time to start feeding your plant its own nutrients. I’m majorly impressed with that soiled. You’ve been 50 days in that soil and still have another 30 days worth of food left. In any of the soil that I’ve seen that’s almost unheard of.

Ok will do. Thanks for the school lessons. Now I know how to use the ppm meter and Ph meter. Yes that Purple Cow I was kinda skeptical about it at first. Guess we will see how it turns out. Any suggestions on organic feed? Kinda want to keep it simple.

I’m not big on recommending something I’m not familiar with. I’d rather tell you straight up from experience. However, I have no experience with organic

Ok thanks again for your input and help. I would of never figured that out. :hugs: I’ll study up on some organic nutrition. See what I come up with. Got some Northern lights autos I may try next.

Well waited 3 days to water her and only with PH water at 6.49, and the ppms going in were at 0420, (who would of thunk it) anyway, ppms are still higher than bird :cat: , but have come down. Ph coming out was at
6.94 and the ppms was 3464, down from 4781 ppms last time. Guess she’s eating slow. The heavy water last time brought on some gnats. So I guess a few sticky traps for the ones flying and and any suggestions for the ones in the dirt. I’m sure there’s a plenty things to use just want to nip em in the butt before they get out of hand.

What she’s looking like now.

Do ladybugs eat knats?

Proponent of using Lady bugs, but smokes a joint recently, and began to wonder or wander. Ladybug excrement could be another reason to wash the harvest.

@Blitzed Back to your soil issue, I do not use your soil, but now you have runoff numbers monitor. My experience with FFOF involves PH/PPM battles until I learn the soil and feed (my experiments use SWAG process).
My grows are better with bottom watering, IMO, less leaf color or necrosis.
Learned I don’t use enough perlite and found 6.2/6.3 PH with under 1000 PPM best input range. I hope.

I’ll be set up differently next time. This is a learning curve for me. My 10Ɨ14 was put on hold, said I need a permit, then said I can’t put another building on the property because septic is built for only 12 buildings and I have 13 plus a 5th RV. I’ll figure something out soon. Not sure about the lady bugs. I have them everywhere outside right now. Being in the south they tend to stick around till winter. That and praying mantis. Can’t put anything outside the grasshoppers will have a feast on it. Like I say. I’ll finger something out soon. Then I’ll start a real thread and see where it goes. Happy smoking!!:triumph::triumph::face_with_spiral_eyes::drooling_face:

Ok it’s been 4 days and she finally dried out enough to run plain water again.

Ph in 6.52
Ppm in 404

Ph out 6.99
Ppm out 2732
So it’s still on the decline. They must really pack the nutes in that soil. Purple Cow. @Lostgirl thanks again for the schooling.
One question. Once I get under 1000 ppm or in that range she will need some feeding I presume. My question is. Can I just top dress the soil with more Purple Cow and keep going? Shes looking good far as I can tell. They say it is a water only soil from start to finish. Looking at day 60 on the 4th.

This mornings pics right after I turned the light on.

I agree that is some crazy soil. You’ve had no deficiencies and a half of a lifetime of nutrients. What more can you ask for in ease of use.

Top dressing with more soil seems to be a good idea to me. Not sure how much nutrients it’ll give you but you’ll know on the first runoff. I say try it for sure. :+1:

I would also reach out to the manufacturer by phone or email and ask them what type of fertilizer they recommend when the pre-charge soil is depleted. (Just to have that info)

Correct me if I’m wrong but you have to go organic on this correct?

Yes organic. I’ll email them and see what they suggest.

The plant looks day and night from what it did. For being some kind of straight up mutant I think you’ve done a tremendous job :v:

It would be nice if the top dress took you all the way to harvest. Keep up the good work

This shows progress, I hope.
Next water 6.2/LOW PPM
And
Next feed
6.2/600-800PPM

Top dressing will add nutrients and cause numbers to bounce.
I like Jacks 321. I can mix 600PPM and hit 6.3 with my city water.

Yes your numbers are high, just let them come down.
Lower than 6.5PH shows up also in YT video USU Dr BB’s video on Nutrients something.

How is the color? thats you best indicator.
Good growing to you.

Never an answer from the company. Phone just sends me to a robot. I’m just gonna roll with it. They do make a recharge and might try that next time. Or just change soil and go from there. There was someone on the site asked me about run off and the ? Was answered to never water to run off. So I don’t know. I’ll keep studying on it. I’ma just keep giving it plain PH water and we will see what happens.:face_with_monocle:
