Another round of GG4

I’m back to share my grow of Gorilla Glue 4. I’m still growing hydroponics EBB and Flow system plus a little soil.
I germinated three seeds and put two into the hydro system and one in soil. Germination started March 13, 2024 using the paper towel method inside a ziplock bag. I used water ph’d to 5.5.
Three days later they broke out from their shells. I should have looked at day two.
The three were put into blocks and put into a tray with a dome and heating pad.
On March 21st. I put two into the hydro system and one into soil.
I’m using Canna nutrients for the hydro and Happy Frog for the soil.
I’m running two photobio leds running off a controller which is currently set to 25% power.
I’ll be updating soon.

Looking good! I’ve always wanted to grow GG4 but never buy the seeds.

Good morning @Retiredoldguy ! I’m gonna have to look for some GG4 soon. I’m just too excited about running the East Coast Sour Diesel cut that I want to toss my current flower run but I could never. Plus I’m almost out of bud :flushed:

The last time I grew this strain was early 2019. The seeds I used have been stored in my refrigerator along with others the whole time. I went back looking at the last grow and things have changed. Probably the only thing the same is the hydro system. Here’s a picture taken shortly before harvest May,2019.

Here’s some information on my schedule of feeding.
Since I’m only growing two plants I mix nutrients for 25 gallons in the reservoir.
I’ve been using Canna brand with good results.
I have feedings set for five times in veg. and four times when in flower, I run each feeding for 45 minutes. This system is a flood then drain.
I have two 55 gallon barrels in this setup. One for nutrients and one for water. I keep three air stones running in both barrels,
I change the reservoir every week to ten days.

Today makes day 8 since putting them into the hydro system.
I changed the reservoir to Veg. phase 1 which will remain until I flip to 12 hours.
I use Canna nutrients for hydroponics.
Here’s the schedule I use.

Aqua Vega part A+B (12 ml/gal)
Rhizotonic (8 ml/gal)
Cannas (10 ml/gal)
Current PPM 760
Ph 5.8
Temp of reservoir 71 with heater.
Temp in room 70
Lights are now at 30% power,

Hello fellow grower. I use ebb and flow hydroponic setup as well from active Aqua. I love it. I don’t think I’ll grow in soil again. Hydroponic is so much easier. Your girls are getting ready to take off. Keep updating so I can follow please. I haven’t grown GG4 yet but I think it’s time. Good luck and happy growing

I’ll be posting things to do as the grow progresses.
One thing I learned over the years is to install fittings so you can change out the lower pots after a couple weeks after the flip. I like to veg some large plants which creates lots of roots into the fitting causing a blockage. I have many pictures of the fittings after changing them out. I’ll look for one.
Here’s where the roots develop,

Here’s the fitting

Here’s what the fittings look like after changing them out.

That’s a cool idea. Those fittings where the roots cause problems come apart for easy cleaning. I put a pair scissors

down in the slots and turn gently and they come out. Give it a try let me know if it works for you.

Now you tell me. lol
The scissors didn’t work but a pair of pliers did the trick.
Thanks for the info

Day 28:
It’s weird how one plant looks so much different than the other. I’m thinking the clay pebbles was pinching the stem from when first entered into the system restricting feeding. It seems to be surviving and the stem is getting bigger.
I just did fimming on the larger one. I prefer this to topping.
The Photobio lights always seem to pack on the levels. They are currently at 40% power.

morning growmie…girls look good to me…

Today I increased the power to the lights to 50%. The girls are looking great and the finming is recovering nicely. The lower branches are strong and making a nice canopy.

Did some defoliation and LST on the larger plant.

do you have a light meter…I am looking at your leaves on the top and the ends look like they were trimmed like a clone fan would be…

I fimmed the top instead of topping it. That still allows the main cola to continue growing.
