The things I’ve seen delivered to American soil… Some of which not legal in any European or north American country…
Aha ok i will have a look at that thanks i would give jacks ago if i could get it ,i do appreciate ur information on all this and i know ur trying help thank you
Seriously I am lucky to get seeds into the country
I found jacks on Amazon Australia and its $180 to $200 and thats the same for down to earth products aswell
But for how much jacks? If it’s 25lbs. By my calculations. Part A (which is used most). If in full swing flower across 27 Sq ft it would last 2.3 years. Meaning I expect my 25lb bags of A and B, with just 10 lbs of magnesium sulfate (epsom) to last me atleast 3.5-5 years. Dependant on veg times.
Plus. There are jacks mimics with a part B also of calcium nitrate. Their part A’s… very similar to jacks aswell. Part A is thr hydro blend. B is just calcium nitrate, 1 is epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). It’s not difficult to replicate.
Its a four pound tub
I just checked again and its for 1.5pound tub for 140
Then personally I would replicate. But that would initially be more difficult. Although. Once solved. Smooth sailing
Things are very expensive here in Australia thats why i go the way i did with this grow it was easier and cheaper for me
That’s often half the battle. Finding what can be done in your specific situation with your specific resources that work best for you. Well… that’s the entire battle. Really.
Thanks for the tag @Graysin
Welcome @InviGrows! This is my second grow with living soil. I am using a product that @MeEasy turned me on to called Earthdust this grow. Very easy. Mix in the base with your soil and let it cook for a couple of weeks. Plant and then two top dressings. Company is called the green sunshine company. Give it a google and read all the information on the site. Since I hurt my back months ago I was looking for a less intensive growing method.
I will tag you into my grow journals where you can see my “conversion” from inorganic to organic growing in living soil. There is a lot of great advice from growers in there mixed with friendly banter.
Remember there are a lot of ways to grow weed and you need to find the method that works best for you!
This site has a wealth of information and very talented growers. Above all, it is a friendly place. We want you to succeed.
Welcome to the community !
I found a product that is very similar to down to earth they do sea bird gauno , alfalfa meal fish bone meal and kelp meal and there cheaper then down to earth i mite have a go with these next time i will make a super soil mix next time
@Budz
What is this sorcery im reading? I might try that out later. I did want my first grow to be 100% organic and then experiment with something else, the idea of this soil is to re use it for years to come with no till for outdoors. But i did wanna start with coco also so could do that after i go thru my current soil kit a few times. I could also try it out in a couple pots, i saw a kit of a 6oz jack 321 at $11. I have some sunshine sphagnum peat still in a small brick and a sht ton a perlite, i could try it out in that. Will see, i’m open to ideas, specially easy methods haha. damn that apera pen your using is expensive but i mean its like a knife of a chef, right? and i do plan on growing year round so might as well make a worthy investment. My journey will be a long one, got an amazing deal in nirvana and i got around 100 seeds coming, half photos (eager to learn to clone but maybe a year away) and half auto’s. Some of the same strain just with the auto variant.
@TheVirginian thank you!! so glad for you to be here
Hello Jane! ive read thru some of your forum, thanks for the tag, its really informative! it looks like your using something similar to gaia greens? looks really solid might considered it after a run this soil a few times.
@kellydans Thank you!! glad to be here!
Damn the forum had me on a 19 hour reply cooldown, it sucked!!! Is that just like a new member thing or will i have limited amount of replies i can make?
Again, thanks to all of you for joining!! i am even more excited cuz of the support i’ve already received! i will make sure to keep you all posted on any updates
New member thing!
Yup. Just new member limits. You’ll get increases across all fronts as time goes on. (It’s actually from participation, but time=participation, unless lurker)
And yeah coco is that easy. Peat moss isn’t naturally pH neutral like Coco though. It’s a common use innert medium, yes. I just don’t think it equates to being as good as coco as a cannabis medium. It’s still a good cannabis medium. But coco is probably the best innert cannabis medium. Because it naturally holds a pH around 7. Which is neutral. So it’s innert + neutral. As to where peat is innert + acidic. Very acidic.
I wouldn’t grow in a peat based medium. Personally. Used as an additive, sure. But these are just my personal preferences.
Perfect range for cannabis…
Second set of leafs coming in
If you notice, 1 is staying behing and a couple have a slight burned tip.
This is has it on the sprouting leafs
And lastly this one is a close up. not sure what to make of it, i am a bit nervous.
Leaf variegation, or as I like to call it - “new leaf weirdness.” It should sort itself out as they get bigger - new plants can struggle to read their own genetic code for a little while. Usually by nose 4 or 5 they’re up to speed.
Second week day 11 or 12. Gave kelp aerated tea couple days ago. Total waterings: 3 and a top soil breeze to get humidity up to 50’s, was dropping bellow 40. Tent is at 76f off and 85f with slight spikes to 87f. Plants havent stretched at all just some minimal.
