Another dumb question by a newbie

I read it was recommended to bend and tie the tops on plants early, but I just ran across this information, do you guys think these are to late to bend and tie and if so do I tie to the base of the stalk or should I leave them alone at this point

It looks like it can easily be bent above the 4th node. Work the stem between your fingers to loosen the fibers and soften it. Bend it toward an open area and tie it to the side of the pot.

Sound advice, as always. Definitely not too late to train her. :v:

No dumb questions here in this forum. Every one of us was a new grower at some point and we were all asking the very same questions.

Okay I woke up this morning and found this on one of the girls I watered them yesterday with some nutrients mixed in, and may have splashed some on the leaves is this from that or do I have a serious problem here

Looks like splash to me.
I do that all the time.
I cant bend over due to arthritis in my back so I use a long funnel with an extension. Water drips off the pipe on lower leaves all the time. It doesn’t hurt a thing, just looks like yours.

@Spiney_norman have you thought about automatic watering aids your arthiritis in your back. just a thought

I should look into it more.
Like many others I tend to deny I’m old.

@Spiney_norman lol. I turned 38 this year and for a couple now i have felt this thing others Call aging and i want no part of it. Good luck. I looked into what it takes to do sobering like that and i think i could rig up a system relatively cheap. Especially if you don’t buy a kit and you just buy the parts.

So far this is working well.
I just aim it and can stand up like normal.

I’m in my 30s and won’t ever go back to hand-watering, it’s hard on my back and I’ve got a long ways to go. One word: autopots. Just buy the trays individually, they come with the valves and whatever whatever. I’m sure you can make a reservoir larger and studier than the sh!t they include in their kits. No shade, just it ain’t hard to do the same or better for less cash.

Okay got up this morning and found this and my ph had shot up to 7.5 so I have been flushing with water at 6.5 ph to lower it letting it drain in pan but I’m not wanting to saturate it to much what’s my best plan here and do I wait for a couple days to feed again

A flush means running a lot of water through it all at once. Your plant doesn’t care if you give her 2 gallons or 20 gallons all at the same moment. She will care if you give her a gallon every day and never let her soil dry out.

To properly flush, for a 5gal pot I’d start with 15 gallons of water. Normally I’ll lazy flush stuff, which is 3x more water than I usually water Vs the old “3x volume of the pot” metric.

If I normally water with a gallon, I’ll start by feeding her a gallon nice and slow, then add a second, and a third. By the end of the third, if my runoff isn’t in the range I want it, then it’s time to visit using the 3x volume of the container route.

Okay I am at a loss at what to do the one plant that is so droopy has leaves dried out and falling off on the bottom, the ph was still 7 and she hasn’t been watered since I flushed her Sunday so I went ahead and ran a gallon through at a ph of 6,5 and my runoff is still high I’m afraid I might lose this one if I can’t figure it out.
The other one has a high ph but a little lower and has brown tips but I was going to let her dry out 1 more day before flushing her cause she’s still a little moist
Any help or suggestions is welcome
