Interior portions of bud for amber trichs, not sugar leaves on exterior

Like @PharmerBob said. Take a sample from the calyx where the pistils emerge. This is the difference. I took these a couple days ago. Calyx [S20201125_0007] Sugar leaf [S20201125_0005]

AHA! I knew they weren’t ready. Several buds still kind of “airy” if you know what I mean. Hope they will get more dense (harder, thicker, ??) in the next week or two. Thanks for the advice and the awesome illustrative pics.

They will certainly fill in more. Light buds can be strain related - sativas are generally not as dense. The amount and quality of the light and also location on the plant.

Does that 2nd pic look like some of those trichomes are turning darker? One is Gelato, the other is GG4. Can you tell which is which? When they first started developing trichomes, it was quite obvious whic was the Gorilla Glue. Just drenched in frost. The Gelato has almost caught up in trichome cov…

What are you using to get those close up pics? I thought mine were good, but yours are like professional quality.
