Hi was wondering has anyone used this led I’m clueless about this subject and don’t want to buy it if its dirt I’m currently using 600w hps https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DC9SHT2/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_bCiOEbQ6MJX8Z
You’ll be much better off sticking with your HPS. The wattage on that light is overstated (as are all Amazon burple lights) and I doubt it would even compete with a 300W HPS. If you want an LED, then go with a product from HLG, Fluence, or similar. Many of us (self included) made the mistake of buying one of those lights sold on Amazon. Here is where mine sits. It’s next stop will probably be the trash can.
yup, make sure you hoard that for a few years before tossing it
Yeah, that’s crap, stick with the 600 watt HPS over that.
I looked up the specs on that light. It’s true wattage is 303W.
LOL, Yeah, I got 3 Mars Hydro 300’s collecting dust somewhere.
I wrote a review on Amazon for the light I bought. The supplier keeps emailing me offering me money to take my review down. First offer was $20. They are up to $45 now.
That’s mad so what would you all suggest to buy
I’d be looking into some HLG 260 kits, what size tent you running?
If you want an LED then Horticulture Lighting Group makes a good and very popular product.
What size canopy are you looking to flower? Tent or grow space size?
Hps is crazy on electric and I’m running 2
8 plants19ft x15ft grow room
This is the only reason most of them have as good of reviews as they do. I would tell them to build a better light and send it to you as a replacement. If it’s indeed significantly better you’ll leave them a good review.
Oh my. That’s a lot of space. I see @dbrn32 is weighing in. Let’s see what he has to say. It won’t be inexpensive to light up that much space.
I’d rather help people than take $45.
One dude tried to challenge my review and tell me I didn’t know what I was talking about. I chewed him up.
With two 600’s, I’m assuming there’s a lot of dead space. A 600 watt hps is good for about 4x4 space, that’s about 1/10 of your space for two.
Be sure to pull the drivers out first. They’re the best thing about those crappy blurples.
Last time I used a grow space that big (2 car garage), I was running 6 600 watt HPS, yeah that electric bill was a bit high at 3600 watts + other household electricity. But I grew tons in there.
I would keep the whole thing, ditch the pcb and find some cobs to throw on factory heatsinks. Fun little winter project that could turn into pretty kickass light.
Yeah the COBs are the only decent feature I could think of. What I really hated about that light is that I needed protective glasses to be around it.
