I would wait for another growth node, but I would recommend a transplant to a larger and final pot :love_you_gesture:

A lot of people say you can top above the third node, but I’ve seen better results waiting a little longer for the plant to get bigger(topping above the 5th after the 7th node develops). Especially in a plastic pot transplant would be my top priority

Cheers lads ill wait a lil longer so.

Haha dont worry fellas tomorrow marks their 4th and ill do the transfer then.

Straight to final pot yea?

yup, I like to stick new pot in with the plant the day before. It’s not absolutely necessary, but acclimating everything can help reduce transplant stress.

When to top is mostly preference, i wait until i can leave 5 or 6 nodes. That plant definitely needs to be transplanted into a larger container asap. Unless you want it to stay small. For reference these were mine at 4 weeks old in a 3 gallon pot.

Damn i didnt think i was losing out on that much size, attempted to move them about 10 days ago but they werent ready, but i suppose a lot changes fast with our little ones.

Tomorrow marks the start of their fourth week and their first two weeks they were under a cfl so hopefully i can catch up with ya :love_you_gesture:

There’s alot of variables for growth rate…nothing to feel bad about. I transplanted mine out of solo cups on day 10 so they had alot of time to grow in the larger container before that photo. I actually had to move one plant out of the tent because there’s not enough space now at week 6. Put it in a 15 gallon pot outside. If i can keep it alive all summer im excited to see how big it gets. Good luck on your plant anyways.

Hello gents here we are 16 days from originally asking.

Feeling like im ready to top, defoliate and lst what you folks think?

If im ready to top, should i take the head pictured or let it stretch a little for more clearance? Or should i go lower down the plant altogether?

Hoping i didnt miss a window of opportunity while fixing other issues.

I love this plant, showed herself to be female 2 days ago and she is the hardiest plant ive had yet, she put up with a lot of shit!

Clearer view of top

Sorry to bother ye

I’ve topped above the 5th for a taller plant but really like topping above the 4th node leaving the 3rd node and remove all growth below. Your plant is ready.

Thank you man beautiful plant id love to get that shape going

Do u think thats possible on what i have now? I see i would at least have to let some stalks grow for a quite a bit first. From your top down view i see you’ve got like a “+” shape going on, does that happen after you’ve topped and trained it down?

Would you have any pics for reference in an early stage like mine is? Just cos ive never done that much before and seems so crazy, id be trimming like 60% of the plant? Like id be stripping it almost bare

I would recommend a simple topping above the 4th or 5th node if you’re reluctant to remove too much growth. The purpose of LST is to spread the plant out creating an even canopy so that all future bud sites will receive equal lighting. The LST training comes after the topping and if you’re topping at a higher node you’ll want to bend and tie the main off to the side of the pot so that the lower branches grow to same height. I use soft wire ties after the side branches reach the outside of the pot, I use the tent pins for training until the soft ties. Here is a diagram of growth nodes, I count #2 as #1 and so on :love_you_gesture:

Zoom and you can see the soft ties for LST

Thanks for that appreciate it and oh man that is the goal right there, what height are those plants? If you have any journals you think might be beneficial link me would love to see the process

All things are possible, or not.
The larger pot needs to get done, asap.
After that, up to you and the plant.
We learn by doing and from our mistakes.
Sharing and research, may cut that number down.
