All seedlings dying in first week x3rd try :(

They don’t look dead so much as they look like they stretched and fell over and then you yanked em out. Try bringing your starting lights closer to slow that stretch down. You can also back fill around the stem for support. Introducing a light breeze also will strengthen a new plant.

Looks like damp-off to me (too wet media). Are you doing a wet/dry cycle when you water? You should.

Make sure you planters have drains also, seedlings don’t need much if any water especially coco! Once you have it set and sees in there slow it to dry off some

Those seedlings look very much alive. Just too much water and not enough light. Both easy to remedy.

I dont water for 5 days, after planting but that’s just enough time for them to die. For the first try i did wait till the top half inch of Coco was dry then just watered enough to get it moist. Though i’ve experienced that if the coco is moist (not dark brown/ wet) the seedling does attempt to grow root hairs which i think is a good thing?

What light do u suggest? How far away 2 inches? I’m currently using a 24 W CFl cool daylight lamp which is approx. 6 inches away from the seedlings.

For reference sake the stems are hardly 2 inches, here is where they begin to die, they just starting shrinking off in the middle and slump over.

I don’t have any experience growing in coco as I do living organics. But from what I’ve read, straight coco needs to be kept moist whereas you have added organice fertilizer and perlite. It looks like you are growing in glass? Not a good idea. As @PharmerBob mentioned, you need drainage and not let the roots soak in water. They need oxygen too.

I would re-pot as well as add more perlite to your media mix. HTH.

Not completely dry out is what you looking for in coco!

I always want the surface to be dry, and bottom feed in a flood system for clones and seedlings

@N00b curious if you wash ur top dressing with light warm water incase there was any type of bad bacteria on it. I always wash my perlite or anything i add to my grow mediums aka soils. Happy growing.

Try getting them started in a rapid rooter. I grow in coco and have found a much higher success rate when I use them. :v:

@N00b little h20 for seedling a quarter teaspoon at a time i do just right at base. If needed i will add more.
In GROWING LITTLE is more most cannabis grows. Just works for me little is more i like to remind myself good luck.

Four things I see right off the bat: too much water (damping off), insufficient light (stems long and fall over) and the use of nutrients this early.

This is way too low. 57F will not support seedlings

You need a stable environment with very high humidity, no nutes and sufficient light. Solo cups work but if using clear must go into a dark colored one as light damages roots. Distilled water misted on the inside of the dome twice a day is all the seedlings need.

I found a major problem, the light wasnt enough, they started thriving in the sunlight. Now the question is what kind of light should i buy next???

Kind of depends on your climate: if you are way up north you could use MH/HPS, LEC, CMH etc but if in say South Texas, LED’s would do better for you. Be aware that almost every LED on Amazon is a ripoff. California Lightworks, HLG (my favorite), CHILled Logic, etc all do good lights.
