So this auto (durban poison) is probably week 9-10 of flower and last week I opened the tent and pretty much overnight all the leaves turned yellow (1st 2 pics are from Friday). I think it’s just senescence since nothing had changed, PH and PPM are both fine and not changes to the environment. I was going to harvest but when I looked at the trichomes under a microscope I didn’t see any amber – just cloudy trichs with some clear mixed in. Figured I’d give it another week but now all the leaves are completely dead and dried yet the trichs don’t seem to indicate it’s ready.
Should I harvest now? Does senescence happen this fast or is it something else?
Speaking of trichs, the buds really aren’t that frosty, by far the lease amount of trichs I’ve seen compared to my other 8 plants which is unfortunate but I’ll probably just use it to make hash or something.
I’ve had this same thing happen before.
I simply missed a watering at that stage and a day or so later I had the same look.
I watered and let her go until I was happy with the trichs and harvested.
Me, a few grow’s ago. I had a get day’s of hotter than normal weather. Plants got dry, temps broke 90F for a few hours during late stage flowering.
That is a very delicate stage of growth. I supplement with Silica and beneficial microbes now. This can harden plant cell walls and inoculate root system as a preventive measure.
Thanks! I’ll probably go ahead and harvest it tomorrow or this weekend. Honestly since it’s not that frosty (idk if that’s the proper term) I’ll probably just use it to make hash or something since I don’t think the buds are going to make for a good smoke.
It’s going to be a pain in the ass to trim since all those dried leaves are hard to get off as the stems of them still seem to be alive and kinda green while the leaves themselves crumble in your hand.
I will toss a 20 on the table they will. 1 hour after chop those big fat buds will be sticky as heck. Not all cannabis shows its potency with mountains of frost. I believe you will be pleasently surprised.
