What’s your water temps I’m in hydro in my basement and my dehumidifier runs like 9 hr a day on most days to keep humidity to about 50% and I’m a rdwc grower. I only ask due to high water temps is really bad and the evap is double if water temps are higher then 70f I try to keep my water between 65 and 68f
Water temperature is running around 71 degrees
I never really checked my humidity before, and I have never had mold. Then again, I just learned recently that you check the trichomes on the buds, NOT the sugar leaves. Therefore, I haven’t ever taken a grow all the way.
That might have something to do with it the fact your in hydro
Make sure all windows are sealed good to air leaks will raise tour humidity
I run my dehumidifier in my flower room it runs 24-7 amd needs to be emptied twice a day
In summer and im in my basement where i have a second dehumidifier running and maintaining 60% in basement i am able to maintain 45-50 in my grow room and i also have ac running in flower room
I exhaust into my basement and draw filtered air back in to my flower room
So i can be a bear to keep up with humidity especially in the summer
“Make sure all windows are sealed good to air leaks will raise tour humidity”
During veg, @Bogleg was helping me out because my humidity was too low. There is a return air vent in the room where house use to have central heat/air. I took the duct off so that air could be drawn in. Now that I think about it, that’s pulling air in from the crawl space, which is probably damp. I think I will seal that off and see if it helps.
Definitely see if that return duct you removed is open to crawlSpace they are normally damp
In veg you want higher humidity than in flower

I covered the vent, and turned the dehumidifier down till it kicked off at 55%. It’s automatic. We will see how it goes
Things just chugging along.
@TDubWilly how long do I keep tying these hussies down? They just keep growing and growing
Most people just think the stretch is about two weeks but I usually observe extra growth for over three weeks after I flip and I continue to tie my plants down that whole time
So you don’t necessarily have to stop tying them down when it starts to show flower?
I left a little early this morning so I could run by and check on humidity. Covering that vent really helped, it was 65% instead of 95%
Nope, and when you stop tying will give you a little bit different result in my experience.
If you tie till the bitter end you’ll get a canopy that appears to be more like a pancake and instead of colas you’ll get these hard and dense “golf ball” nugs and everything will be getting max lighting.
If I stop tying at about two weeks into the stretch then I get about 8" colas on average.
If I stop tying just one week into the stretch then sometimes colas are longer than 15" with not much light penetration into the canopy.
The first option with the pancake canopy usually gives me the densest nugs but it hasn’t yielded me the most, usually colas do that but many times if your colas start getting to long you start getting more airy buds. I think there is a sweet spot in there where you can still have decent colas and get good light penetration for the best of both worlds. Every light is different though so you have to figure out what type of scrog setup best caters to your light.
I don’t think I can make it three weeks little buddy. Today is end of week one, and my screen is getting fairly full. One a little more than the other. I don’t know why I can’t upload pictures, it keeps saying they are too big.
Drop resolution on your cellphone cam.
I’m an old fart. Ain’t got a CLUE how to do that.
Parameters > resolution
