Alaskan Bananaberry Auto 12/5-4/7/25

Hey all. I hope I don’t get in trouble for this post having a lot of pictures. I apologize in advance. I started an Alaskan Bananaberry Auto back on 12/5/24. Just harvested yesterday and today. All outdoor, in ground, SoCal. I ended up with well over a pound and a half from the wet trimmed buds. (I’m a wet trim guy, myself) not including any of the stems, fan leaves or small trim. Had to take 3 shifts to get it all done, real life happens in-between. There were 9 main branches, did 3 at a time, half a pound for each set of 3 buds. Who says autos can’t produce…lol. Starting the drying and I got a couple of dozen 1-oz Terp bags for xmas as well as a dozen 1-pound Terp bags. Will be trying those once dry for curing instead of Mason jars this time. Please let me know what you think. Hope everyone has a great day. Enjoy!

Thank you Happy. The plant itself measured about 33 inches tall at harvest. Not sure how wide, but wide enough to give a hug when I needed one. The smell was actually very candy-like that surprised me.

Thanks True. Although I did not get these particular seeds from ILGM, it is a line that ILGM reps and sells. Not sure if I’m allowed to say who since we are in the ILGM forum.

Hey, hey, T-Ray. Good to see you around again. Thanks for the well wishes. Can I tell you a secret? I have a White Widow XXL Auto just a few feet away from this Alaskan Bananaberry that is just a little bit bigger. It’s almost ready but not quite, but she is also an absolute beauty. I think that I’ll get over 2 pounds on that one. I love the smell of White Widow in the morning! Have a great day!

Dude that’s awesome. Thank you, I am enjoying this hobby again and the comradery here that comes with it.

I have tried to grow ILGM WWA like 4 times before I got serious about it. Never got more than larf bud infested with spider mites but it still smoked. I still got some seeds though and will drop one soon.

Pretty sure naming the seed bank is no issue, just no links.

That’s a great harvest. Congratulations, :oncoming_fist: :flexed_biceps:
Do you put the undried buds in the terp bags before drying? I was under the impression the had to be 58-62% humidity before you put them in the bags to cure?

Hey Old, I’ll do the dry first separately, and then use the terp bags for the cure part. Last October, I had 48 of the 32oz mason jars for the curing. It was such a PITA to pull them out of the crates, open all 48 of them for 20 minutes, and then cap them up and put them back in the crates. Easily an hour each day just doing that. Terp bags you are just supposed to seal them and leave them for the whole cure and also storage. My first time using them so I’m excited to see the results. Thanks for asking. Have fun.

Hey Grow Fam, Just wanted to do a quick update. I’m now in the drying phase for my Alaskan Bananaberry. I bought this last year as I got so overwhelmed with trying to dry my huge Valley Weed plant that I have pictures of in another post. It didn’t come in time to save me last October, but I knew right where I put it for this upcoming season. I put it outside in the morning while the temps are cooler but then move it indoors (AC) when it starts to get hot. Supposed to be around 90 degrees over the next few days, so I’m trying to be careful with it. Hopefully you enjoy the update. Do take care everyone, have a good grow day.

This was the plant that I could have really used the drying bag for last October…

Hey OldNailPounder, here are the Terp bags I was talking about. Went into one of my crates to get the picture for you. Plus, I’ll need to pull some out over the next couple of days. Hope you have a good one.

Thanks, Yea, I have a bunch of different sized Grove bags I’ve been using. I was just confused and thought you were putting the fresh buds in them. I’ve been F’n around trying to get them in the 60’s % before putting them in the bags. I thought “WOW” maybe I’m doing this wrong. It can be kind of a struggle. Bag them up, then the humidity creeps up, so unbag, rebag, and so on. LoL

Hey all, I just wanted to do an update (since I promised to) on the Alaskan Bananaberry Auto, harvest through curing. It’s been almost 3 weeks since starting the cure. The humidity in the Terp bags has evened out. I had a few times where the humidity would creep up after sealing the bag. Once it got to 66%, I would open the bag, turn on an oscillating fan (not directly but passing by) and it would bring it back down to the appropriate range. Had to do that the first week and then it all stabilized. I feel like I have most of my water weight gone, scale has stabilized too, so I don’t think that I will lose any more weight. But here is what I have, just about 7 ounces dry. Started at 1.7 pounds wet and 7 ounces dry. When the cure is done, around June 14th or so, I’ll pull everything out of the cure bags to take some pictures before vacuum sealing them up into 1-ounce bags. Hope you enjoy the update!
