Yes I did and had no ill effects from it because it’s not a very strong light. If you keep it in the tank, absolutely get a stronger light for later growth. Good luck!
I have this light already set up and ready to go in my tent. I have already removed the AeroGarden light, but I’m probably going to re-install just to germinate the seed and once it has a few leaves pull the light off. Or would you recommend I use the AeroGarden light for a few weeks then remove? @super_newby

That is the same light I used and had decent results. I used the Aerogarden light for the germination and a few weeks after. The plant will tell you if it needs more light, not growing much, and stretching to the light. Good luck!!
@super_newby was that another Aerogarden garden grow? This thread looks like your use the AeroGarden light the whole time with supplemental lighting. What was your dry weight with the other light?
Also @Ds401 and @rocko how were your results with the AeroGarden?
I’ve only done one complete grow in the Aerogarden but I start all of my seeds in it, on my 6th grow. The WW I grew outgrew the tank quickly and the roots clogged the intake for the water pump a few times, almost burning it out. It was also the lowest yield, maybe a 1\2 oz. You may have better luck so at least try and see what happens if you can spare it.
@super_newby we’re you cleaning the tank out weekly? Are you growing in soil mainly or did you get another hydro system? Have you ever heard of trimming roots or will that stress the plant?
I changed the water once a month, didn’t root trim, mostly an experiment to see what would happen. I start seedlings in hydro and transplant to soul when they’re about an inch tall. I don’t have the room for a hydro system but I’m getting decent results.
This article is what gave me the idea to use an AeroGarden. https://www.aeroweed.info
The guy who wrote this recommends changing out the water once a week with new nutes and cleaning the reservoir. But if I don’t get the results I’m looking for I will be getting a hydro bucket kit for my next grow. The issue I’m having with that though is the bucket is 14 inches tall. So I’ll only have 38 inches to grow between the top of the bucket to the bottom of light fixture. Maybe that’s enough. I’m not sure because I have never done this before. I just need my intake fan which I’m ordering tomorrow.
The list of things I bought for my first grow are as follows.
Aerogarden
2x4x60 grow tent
600w LED (260w draw)
2 x 50w full spec bulbs with stands
Pump with air stone
Small fan
Timers
Ph and Ppm pens
Gen hydro nutes
Exhaust fan with carbon filter
Humidifier
Small space heater
And some other random stuff
So I think I’m prepared once I get my intake fan. Just a little nervous cause I’ve never done this before. The fan I’m getting monitors temp also. @super_newby
Good luck, i am also going to areoponics soon.
I have eliminated blue bucket rez and made it a different way. I am excited to start but i am in middle of flower rite now so i have to wait.
I’m three weeks in as a new grower with WW Auto. Anticipating how this will turn out. I’ve been following the nutrient schedule from aeroweed.info and so far everything looks like we’re on the right track. Would appreciate any help or information from other growers using the same system.
I’m pretty sure we are following the same instructions I’m only a few days in though. Here are my first sprouts of Mango Kush!
Looks really good. I’ve read that autos are great for Aerogarden. I’m midway through the 4th week and started doing some LST on the bigger stems. She’s really starting to get tall. Hoping I see pistils soon.
How’s it going in the aero garden? Mine outgrew the 24 in light so I had to remove it and add other lights. I probably should have topped it earlier. I think it’s just starting to flower, but I’m not positive (first grow, mango Kush- 9 weeks from seed)
I used the included light until I started seeing growth then changed it out with a more powerful one. My autos are about ready to harvest…most likely tomorrow or later next week. I’m waiting for the trichomes to turn milky.

How did you get your plant out of the AeroGarden?
After harvest, I trimmed the main stem all the way down to the base. Then I pulled the cover off of the AeroGarden and had to cut off the roots. It’s a bit of a hassle but it was the easiest way I could think of.
You finished in the AeroGarden? I hope to soon harvest from one myself. I was under the impression that @Daryl took his girls out of an AeroGarden to grow in soil and I was wondering how he got them out alive. I imagine they were still young enough to be pulled through and the plastic cut off.
Mine grew from seed to harvest in the AeroGarden. I only grew two plants but the yield wasn’t very large. Next time I’m only growing one. After harvest I cut the stems all the way down to the base and had to trim the roots to lift all the way out. You’ll have to cut the plastic to pull the rest. It’s messy and I’d recommend investing in surgical gloves.
I’m currently 4 weeks in on My farm XL. The only issue I have had so far was keeping a well ballanced Nutes in the 2 gallon reservoir. But it seems like once you get that down it’s not bad at all.
