First grow White Widow AutoFlower

Hello everyone I am glad to finally start my first grow journal. I look forward to everyones input and am glad to have you along for the journey.

Since this is my first indoor and Autoflower grow I will start with 2 plants. I was thinking I will try experimenting a bit on each grow. I have read a bunch on here and elsewhere and found its pretty much a toss up on the approach, so I need to find what works best for me. I will be documenting everything here and in my own books to be able to start building my own little database. I am not set on my plan completely but at the very least one will be LST and the other will be straight up maybe some tucking. I guess lets kick this thing off.

I have no idea what to do about nutrients and im sure some of my equipment is not ideal. Any input here is always nice to have.

My setup:

Grow Space

  • 24"x48"x70" Mars Hydro grow tent
  • I have pre data that I have been getting for about a week with tent closed and meter at ground level. I have left the exhaust fan on low, 2 6" fans on low and frequently the light at 50%.
    • Max = temp 79.2 f rh 57%
    • Min = temp 75.4 f rh 45%

Ventilation/Environment Control

  • 2 6" fans with high and low settings
  • 1 inline duct fan for exaust Mars Hydro df100-m. 205cfm with a carbon filter.
  • 1 filtered non assisted 4" intake. ( I will be changing this to 6" in the future if needed.)
  • Update: added 1 Ac Infinity Cloudline T4 with controller duct fan to replace the df100 as exhaust. Set the df100 to pump fresh air in to tent. Added 4.5L Mooka cool mist humidifier

Lighting

  • 1 Mars Hydro TSL-2000 ( May upgrade this if it does not perform )
  • Max height without modification measured from top of 5 gallon pot to light hood. 36 1/2" ( I am thinking I will need to modify this. I could probably get another 18" or so if needed.)
  • Update: Removed the light controllers from the hood and mounted outside of the tent to reduce heat. Also removed the 2 factory light hangers and used 4 AC-RHA3-12 rope clip hangers to gain better control of light and gain the additional height adjustment.

Grow Medium

  • 5 gallon fabric pots
  • 50/50 Fox Farm OF and Happy Frog and then top 20% straight up Happy Frog completly dried out

Nutes

  • Bergmans plant food ( ILGM grow kit… Seedling Booster, Growtime Fertilizer, Plant Booster, Flowertime Fertilizer, Bug Blaster, Root Guardian, and Mold Shield)
  • Update: Purchased Bloom City Silica Boost to help with heat issues. Purchased Botanicare Cal-Mag.

Tools

  • Thermo-Hygrowmeter
  • Vivosun PH Meter
  • Xlux Soil Tester
  • General Hydroponics pH control kit
  • Update: 2x 5L Vivosun Compression Sprayers
    1x 96pc 1in Binder Clips Seaside Supply
1x Unves 2 pack Garden Tape
6x 15 inch Plastic Plant Saucers
    Apera PC60 5 in 1 kit

Harvest Prep Update

  • Greensadi Trimming Tray Kit
  • 50x 1oz Grove Bags
  • 12 piece black round mini hygrometer
  • 10 pack Boveda 62% rh size 8

Good luck with your grow!
FYI: You can get rid of those cables holding the light up on each end and add 2 more ratchet straps directly to the light (1 on each corner to gain more height

Thats a good idea. I was just going to make a smaller version of what it came with. I hope they grow big enough to need that.

No problem
I would also while rehanging the light put the pole it’s hanging from above the other pole going the opposite way so you spread the weight across 2 poles instead of one so it won’t bend as much
I’m sure you will grow some monsters this is addictive!

33 hours germinated in 4 1/2 oz water added cap full of hydrogen peroxide. Both seeds pop with 1/4" tail. Planted into 5 gallon pots. Light moisten around area. Light is on lowest power setting and still all the way up.

Water ph 6.3. Temp in tent 79.0f rh 55%

I wouldn’t bother upgrading that intake fan most us have great success with just passive intake just be sure your not intaking at the exact same spot your exhausting and you’ll be fine

My negative pressure is pretty strong with the fan just on low. When I need to crank it up I think it will be working pretty hard.

37hrs in the dirt and see the seed shells trying to pop out of each pots soil. Hopefully tomorrow ill have 2 new seedlings standing on their own. Still moist under the dome so no water since intial

49 hours in the soil and both seeds have broken soil.
Still moist under dome so no water.

I set the timer on the light to start 16/8 schedule today that starts dark in a few. They are both not straight up so im guessing they want a break from it. After a day or 2 I will be adjusting to 18/6 for the duration. Its still lowest setting and at max height.

I’m starting to think I’ve been blasting my girls with too much light early on

I’ve been way lower on height and higher on power than that :scream:

No bleaching or anything but still I wonder if it has been too much

Keep in mind I do not know what Im doing. Mostly guessing here. However it does seem like I may be ahead of schedule from what I have read.

From what I have read when the plant starts turning away from the light they are looking to get away from it. I hope I am reading it correctly. However it could just be carrying the weight from the shell also. Figured safe would be give it a rest.

Well it sounds as if since yours is so young you are doing it right

Mine are a bit older (not much though)

They look good. Im excited for mine to get there.

Should I be worried? It is standing up a little better but leaf is pointing straight down on one and may be starting to do the same on other. Is the dome keeping to much moisture in? Should i remove it and let it dry up some overnight? I have not watered since initial.

This one is worse than the other

This looks like its starting to follow

Or is this normal?
