I only have 2 inches outside of this tent on three sides with the forth butted up to another. Does this look like it will work? The light and carbon filter have a separate cord to a timer/power strip. Opinions please.
I’ve seen a lot of cats that zip tie a power strip to a pole up high and use that set up, and I totally understand tight quarters. My main 2x4 tent is flat against 2 walls in a corner but I still run the cables out of the vent holes up top and below in the rear. I use good heavy duty extension cords where needed and heavy duty power strip. I just pushed the tent back against the wall on the cords. The negative pressure gives me a little wiggle room back there.
Just make sure whatever you do is as safe as you can make it and you’ll be fine.
I just don’t like the idea of my electrical connections being in the high heat environment above the lights. When you’re pulling a fair amount of juice through them they will heat up. I worried more about that than having the tent against the line and wall.
Best of Luck to you!!
I recommend against using extension cords. They are meant for short term usage vs permanent wiring. Light duty cords can heat up during overload.
If you can use a single power strip plugged into the wall, ensure it has a fault interrupt circuit and tape over any condition lights if it’s in the tent. I’ve seen timer controlled power strips with eight sockets — four switched and four constant power.
If your power requirements require two power strips they should most likely be plugged into separate circuits.
I use this inside my propagation station, so do what you gotta to make it work!
That space where your exhaust fan on won’t be used anyway!
Welcome aboard ! I recommend putting the variable speed for your exhaust fan on outside of the tent. easier to access. Run Exhaust fan 24/7 Good luck
I have a 6 outlet surge protecting power strip zip-tied to a pole in each of my tents. (But try to get ones without lights)
