Advice on LST for my Autos

Hello, my like minded friends. I just started LST on my autos. I started Day 16 which was yesterday On both my girls. I just need advice for when should I stop and if I’m doing it correctly. Here are some photos of how they looked before I started LST and during LST today. I don’t think There is much tension that would be hurting them.

Too soon in my opinion Growmie, let her grow some more. You’re choking the growth in pic 2 :love_you_gesture:

So many days till I start? This is week 3 going on week 4 this Monday since I started growing. I have about 5-6 weeks till harvest since they are autos. I was reading to start them younger then later. Also there are the original lower true leaves under the small ones you see I’m showing light to.

You have at least 9-12 weeks left to harvest Growmie. Typically most autos and photos have a 10 week flowering period. This plant needs some more vertical growth, she’s small for 3 weeks :love_you_gesture: don’t wrap the tie wire around the leaves, there’s no room for this branch to turn up and grow vertical. Tie the branch main

I thought autos take 8-10 weeks from seed to harvest. So they take 15 weeks from seed to harvest? Okay so should I wait like a week or two before I start LST?

Sorry to say’s there’s a lot of false advertising on autos. The autos I’ve grown generally flower 28-36 days in veg, this is after the 14 day seedling period then an approximate 10 week flowering to harvest period. Growing autos can be tricky as the 1st few weeks above ground are critical for growth, temps, RH, lighting and nutrients have to be dialed in or else you’re left with a flowering plant that’s 8-12” tall and 1/2 a zip at harvest. Personally I would let her grow another week making sure those conditions above are on point :love_you_gesture:

I’m using a mixture of FF soil. I have 5 Gallon Fabric pots with a mixture of strawberry fields at the bottom for when the roots get to the bottom for flowering stage which I will top dress for flowering and ocean forest in the middle for vegg and happy frog om top for the seedling stage since OF is high in nutrients for seedlings. I have a regular watering of about 500 ML at the moment every 3-4 days depending on the soil. I have been trying to dial my VPD and PPFD to see if my DLI is on point. But I really haven’t started feeding any nutrients because it hasn’t showed any deficiency’s.

You’ve got at least 6 weeks left before nutrients are needed. You’ll drive yourself crazy chasing VPD, I make sure the RH is 65-70% and 78-82 degrees for seedlings. Same temps for veg just lower the RH to 55-60% and flower I like the temps around 72-78 and RH 45-50%. I set my lighting using PHOTONE an smart phone light meter app. Each growth stage has a different level of lighting needed. For seedlings I set my DLI at 18-22 with a 24/0 light schedule and change that to 18/6 in veg slowly increasing the DLI over the next several weeks :love_you_gesture:

Okay, yeah the VPD has been insane so I am keeping that humidity and temps if the humidity goes up I Just turn on my Exhaust. Lol that’s the same app I’m using. Thx for the help

This early you could have 80% humidity and the plants will be happy @jtcruz420. @OGIncognito has you covered…chasing VPD is a waste of time and WILL drive you crazy. I love to bend and tie everything down but you need more growth for that…good luck with the grow

Could I give the short one low amounts of nitrogen little to nun for better growth? Ones a little runt

Trying to give a short auto a little more nutrients is a waste of time autos do what they want to do not much control. As far finishing time they are done when the plants tell you there done you have to check the trichomes. Advertised finishing time is basically the same as wattage on Amazon lights mostly BS.

I tend to just try to hold them down lightly when starting an auto. I have done about the minimum to this plant, and i focus on trying not to stress and autoflower.

I do some light bending to help them spread outward, and a few metal stakes keep them short. Which in my tent works. I dont have a very high ceiling.

Put your tie below a node so it doesn’t crush the hood sites for new growth. I’m with @OGIncognito wait a little longer before you pull her over. You probably FIM if you wanted to. Just need to see that top bud site and I can tell you if you’re interested

So I was wondering I woke up this morning and saw two white pistils already. So my question is am I already into early flowering or is my plant still considered Veg ? It’s pretty short in my opinio @OGIncognito @OldSkunk @Jonesy287 @TeNNWisKeY

Well its a girl. Might be a short one. The auto i have going right now seems to want to stay a shorty. Just feed it right so she gets fat and juicy

She’s just showing sex….it’s a female :love_you_gesture:

So should I wait to LST or start this week. I thought the pistils meant early flowering

I make small stakes at that point to help the branches spread instead of growing upwards so fast.

Something like this seems to work well for me.
