Advice on a tent

Would you still consider this an issue if the 8 X 8 were situated such that all four sides were clear on the outside? I have plenty of space. Sounds like an alternative would be to setup multiple 3 X 3’s in about the same area.

By having separate veg and flower rooms you can already do that by staggering start times. Say you have enough room for 12 plants. You start a new seed every 10 days or so. The first time through you’ll have empty spots until the 4 month mark. But after that you just start a new seed when you start flushing a plant. You could almost have a harvest every 10 to 14 days that way. You could also do that same style but make it more spread out. Like 3 plants every month using that same 12 plant scale. But we all know plants have their own personality so timing would never be perfect. But by starting a new seed everytime a plant starts flushing would ensure you stay at capacity at all times after the initial round.

Just throwing alternative ideas at you.

There in lies part of the problem…not only do I need a monthly harvest, I would like to have six plants in each harvest. I can barely fit six plants in my current 8 X 8 room.

Ah that makes sense. So some sort of expansion is necessary no matter what.

If an 8x8 has access on all sides would be more user friendly than just on 2 or 3 sides. Multiple 3x3 spaces is something I would consider, but I’m not really sure how feasible that is with your automation. Doable I suspect, but probably not your best course of action.

This may be worth looking at. It doesn’t take a sog styled grow to run 4 plants per 4x4. If you don’t need to leave room in the space to work, you could divide 8x8 into quadrants each running 4 plants offset by a couple weeks. The newest plants in shouldn’t be too big of a deal to pull out in order to gain access to plants you’re removing to harvest. I would like to think that would have you in neighborhood of four 3-4 ounce plants every couple of weeks. As long as your veg space and methods could support having 4 plants ready to fill a 4x4 on that frequency?

There’s always some sort of balance that needs to met here and that will be different for each individual grower. You may not be able or want to harvest on that frequency. Or, shuffling plants into and out of a space like that can be more work than you want to do. Those are cases where you would want to substitute the square footage. If more room makes the most sense, go with that.

@merlin44 late to the party, had to do the dirty word (work) today. I went from the great wide open to growing in a closet, then to an 8x10 room,so I am no help on tents. However I have thought these “hedges” that we are making of these plants, a man could maybe go vertical if you have the overhead and use qbs or strips turned down so no scorching? I think it is possible to get two layers in 8 feet with right light and air exchange. I hear ya`ll laughing at me from here, so… am I crazy or what? Tell me I can take it! huh?
