Tent size for first time grower in small area

I’m a first time grower looking to grow 1 to two plants at most. I don’t have a lot of space. What size tent should I purchase? Thanks I’m advance.

Welcome Mugsy78. A 2’x4’ tent is perfect for two plants at a time. Gives optimal 2x2’ area per plant.
One consideration is if you think you might want to do more than 2 at a time then buy the 4x4 tent. They tend to give you a taller tent than the 2x4’ and let you grow into it.

You can get away with a 2x2 but that will be real tight and you’d need to train well

I’d personally try to fit 3x3 for wiggle room

Most 2x2’s are 48”in height I would suggest looking for one that is at least 60” will make your life a lot easier

Yes like said above 4x2 or 3x3 would work, but try to get the tallest tent you can. When your pots are 1 ft tall, then think about light distance from canopy. Taller better, good luck

Yeah my suggestion of 2x2 is barely a recommendation, more of a poor option

I personally couldn’t deal even with a 2x2x6 for more than one plant

I just know it can be done as I’ve seen others here pull it off but it won’t be easy

Thanks all. Very helpful. I’m using autoflower seeds. Do you know what the average weight of those plants are ? Also, any suggestions on where to purchase the least expensive grow kit? Lights etc included. Amazon?

Grow kits usually come with inferior components best to buy separately figure out what size tent you want and the nice people here will help also a budget

Thanks !!

Oh yeah, give me a $$ budget and height limit on your grow area and I can slap together some good ideas. I’ll never claim to give top quality or the best of everything, but I take pride in being able to find something that should be “passable” for most budgets.

Don’t go cheap on the lights the grow tent kits only hab=ve one light. When we bought ours We couldn’t afford to buy another light and when I can we will

Thanks. I really don’t want to put more than $300 into it if that’s possible. Really can’t fit a tent that’s more than 3 feet wide either.

No problem, there’s a lot of great people on this site they won’t steer you in wrong direction. Newbie my self and everyone on this forum have helped a lot. Give us your dimensions and space for tent and like said above we can help you get it there

$300 isn’t a lot to work with but I’d do it like this.

32”x32”x63” Grow Tent ($42)

KingBrite 240w UV + IR Full spectrum light ($169 after shipping)

4” In-line fan ($27)

Ducting with clamps ($14) - this may be cheaper at your local hardware store.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YN8XM8R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MZ4WY7D2NP5ERJ7EH8GW?psc=1

Thermometer/Hygrometer ($12) suggest Bluetooth so you can remote monitor but there are alternatives that run a few bucks cheaper.

A good PH meter: $50 minimum. Edit: it linked the combo kit but you can just get the basic pen, it’s $50 instead of $77.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ENFOHN8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WMASHFGTHF3DS2WDD8E0?psc=1

A TDS pen. $8 for the cheap one. See above - recommend a good one (Apera or BlueLab but they are $$)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QDRWSWS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_74E6A19D80SHEJFJ5TS4

That set up will get you started. It doesn’t address nutrients, soil, or airflow beyond the ventilation needed for air exchange. $322. You can cheap out on the lights but I don’t recommend it. The KingBrite is very good for the price.

They also have a 24x30" tent that is 7’

Thanks ! That probably going to be too big. First time grower so this is probably a stupid question, but how high can an autoflower grow ?
