Advice on 4x4 grow tent setup

So if I wanted to go with just one big light for full spectrum in a 4x4 from seed/harvest growing autos, nothing else hanging from top (filters outside) in an 80” tall tent, would the hlg 650r be hard to manage or “too much” for that scenario? :woman_shrugging:t2::thinking:

Also I’m seeing that hlg has the blackbird that they market as being perfect for 4x4 tents… Would that not be a choice way to go?

Merry Christmas and welcome to the neighborhood. A great place to learn to grow and make many friends!:v::gift::christmas_tree:

they were both full spectrum. It is the light that say “Bspec” for “Blue Spectrum” that is only for vegetation stage. There is also a few others that are only for veg or flower. most are full spectrum leaning toward red spectrum of light
This one is blue and says Bspec for blue. it is used for veg.

This HLG 300 would do a decent job vegging plants in a 4 x 4. Stay with the HLGs but go for 40-50 watts per sqft to cover that grow space for optimum flower coverage :love_you_gesture:

Yes veg only :love_you_gesture:

or get 2 . rather than deal with a big ol light in tent. diablo barely fits. if i would go back and pimp out 4x4 i would get 2 for tent, but if i choose my light knowing i was going to upgrade to a bigger space. if i was only going to have a 4x4 tent forever i would get 2 300 @Beginner3400
also make sure you get the 15% discount on HLG site

i swear someone asked me somewhere the question of 600 or 2 300???

I’m definitely going to eventually get a bigger tent @DukeHale

You know how much bigger?

  • Personal, what I would do my opinion . instead of 600r I would get 2 350r’s . That way you can have one higher or lower due to different heights from different plant growth . You would have to Tillt or raise light Altogether.

I haven’t calculated prices or anything

This would be the price with taxes/shipped and code dude applied. I’ve been all over in this thread with what light to get for a 4x4, you think two of these would be the right choice? They’re within budget.

HLG Premium Light provider, I read.
Apera, Same, I know
AC-Infinity provider of useful grow control equipment. I sell my blood and body parts to afford Ac-I account and keep my wife’s BF working (Amazon delivery guys).

I am not a happy consumer for V-ever-broke-sun. AC motors louder than A6.
Their Measurement pens, measure something in 20 minutes, not 4 seconds like the Apera or Blue.

Single tent 4x4 recommend 6 inch min inline fans (T6) with Cloudline Controllers 67 or 69.
Expansion will not be limited as in using 4 inch (T4).

Tent Apollo, has more vents than V-ever-broke-sun, with zippers that hate me.
Charcole/carbon filer important smell reducer.
Height and supporting equipment is the next issue.

Good growing to you.
The HLG 350R can take over your 600 watt HID lamp while using less power. The HLG 350R is ideal for those looking to grow their plants indoors in any environment. It’s an energy-efficient, high-output LED light that uses only 330 watts of power, yet produces up to 6,000 lumens . Even Light
Advertised reads well.

in my 4x4 tent I only grow 2 plants at a time…I like and use the Marshydro FC-E6500 for a year now…I have been thinking when this light goes dim I might go with 2 each 2x4 lights instead of one big 4x4 light this way on the rare occasions when the 2 plants don’t grow at the same rate I can have a light for each plant basically…just a thought
Merry Christmas!

Thanks @Retiredoldguy @DEEPDIVERDAVE so @Blazin if you can afford it get the 350Rs

Actually, a good thought. I am re-considering fewer plants and two smaller, smaller than MEGA-WATTS, lights. 6 re-vegers in 4x4 and two are candidates for removal, shortly.
4 of 6 appear to be same strain, and probably Auto’s (and the other two, photo’s).

350r is a great light. This would be more than is needed for 4x4, but would allow you to run dimmed for more efficiency and room to grow to larger tent if you wanted.
