Hi all, I’m looking for some advice on my plant, I’ve been growing her for just over 3 weeks now its my first ever grow, she’s been coming along very nicely it would seem, but recently I’ve notice my plant not growing taller but more busy especially up top, it’s getting a jumble under there and I’m wondering what I should do so my light hits the parts growing rom underneath? I got some really big leaves coming on too, I’m concerned it’s not going to get any taller and expected it to be a bit taller, any advice would be great, thanks in advance.
I’ve also had to do 3 transplants since I’ve had her the last one which was done in to her current pot was done a week after the last transplant, I felt I had to go even bigger as it was a matter of days before I started to see roots coming from the holes in the bottom of the pot I felt I had to transplant on the next feed. Which I did so she is growing pretty fast it would seem, again Any advice is welcome I’m a totally newbie to this, the plant in question is my OG Kush plant on the left in my photos.
Got the same thing going on actually… its the strain IMO… but please get 2nd opinion. We will both see what the community has to say
Hey, thanks for the reply, yes I do know OG Kush is a bushy plant, but something is nagging me inside about the height and think maybe it should be a bit taller, I’m unsure hopefully we will find out dude.
What lights are you using? Backing off the lighting a bit can encourage her to stretch out.
I wanted to top mine and almost do a manifold grow to stop the apical dominance… back way off on lights and let em stretch… but I just asked in my thread the same question
I’m using next to nothing as it is, so I thought, I’m only using a 125w CFL blue spectrum currently I thought maybe it was the height of my light but nothing much has changed by changing it so I lowered it back down a bit. I’m also using a full reflector.
In my opinion height is less important than width if you top it the lower branches will grow faster giving you a larger canopy which will give larger yealds. Grow lights only penetrate so far so having a taller plant will not necessarily be benificial… If that helps you any. Your plant looks good, don’t worry about getting it tall it will gain height quickly when you switch to 12-12

I read somewhere that beginners or first time growers should top or LST?
Also could you confirm if know, if I should be feeding both bio bizz bio grow and the bio bloom around weeks 3 onwards? Or just the bio grow? I thought the bio grow came in at flowering stage…
A far as topping goes in would go ahead and top it now. Then as the side branches grow just basically pull them out to the sides so that they are they same height as the top. That will help fill your space and give better yields. I am not really familiar with the bio-bizz line but most three part nutrients require all 3 parts just different amounts of each throughout the grow. You could probably go to the website and get a feeding schedule then cut the amounts in half and that would give you a good idea where to start.
I ended up giving the bigger of the two the OG Kush a topping and cleared some of thr fan leaves out it looks better more light get trough and ventilation better now so hopefully recovers nicely, time will only tell, I took a couple fan leaves off bottom of the Incredible bulk too as they was huge and getting in the way, I think I’ve done right here lol I’ll top the IB in a week or so, as there is a week’s difference between them. But I do feel they are coming along nicely so far.
