Haha thats alot of questions and each one has a ton of answers. As far as adding nutrients its totally dependent on type of medium you are growing in and how much ammendment there was to start. Typically about 4 weeks ill start with nutes but im growing organic and in coco loco. As far as topping ide honestly say most don’t, some do on autos. Your time frame is really shortened and everything you do will effect your grow. I would highly recommend LST and maybe some super cropping. Good luck hopefully I helped a little. Cheers.
Medium specific, if it’s amended start checking your run off PPMs around week 4, below 800 and I start feeding.
Yes, will increase yield, create an even canopy through LST and topping for more bud sites.
I don’t understand this question. I top and manifold or quadline all my autos and photos. Look around the forum for naturally grown autos, they’ll resemble Christmas trees with 1 main. LST will help keep an even canopy and expose lower bud sites but topping or a fimm will increase the number of bud sites
Thanks for the quick answer! I know it’s a lot haha, I’m currently growing in around 70% FFOF, 15% perlite, and 15% coco coir. I’ve seen quite a few YouTube video’s where they top and it’s been working out for them but I’m worried to try it since it’s my first grow, but it seems as though it’s worked for them
I top all my autos and let them grow to the 5th-6th node and top back to #4 for a regular topping and #3 for a manifold. This typically will happen around weeks 2-3 of veg not counting the 12-14 day seedling stage.
I use landscaping pins until the branches reach the outside of the pot then I use soft ties to continue the LST. The top and middle pics are topped, last is a manifold topped at the 3 rd node and the nodes below 3 removed
Being your first autoflower I’d say to just get experience to do only lst. Learn how the plant grows then you can try other methods if you wanted. I am also growing my first autoflower. I found even if you let it grow naturally you can still do lst. I didn’t do much on my plant until it was like 24 inches tall and still wanted to go higher! I then started a semi lst on outer branches and eventually got the main stalk lsted which is in the shape of an “S” almost.
After lst
Also you have to think about space and light coverage. But either way you go good luck and there are a ton of people here that are knowledgeable either way you choose to grow!
They are beautiful, holy. I might try to top. So I’m about to finish week 2 of the seedling stage, I’ll drop a picture here in a second. I shouldn’t top this early then right?
I start counting from ground breaking and up to day 12-14 is the seedy stage, day 1 of veg starts the day after and with autos you’ll have 28-36 days of veg. before preflower
The plant I have in the pics I posted started preflower 18 days after it broke soil! Was pretty big until I ended up giving it nitrogen toxicity . But quickly fixed it and kept it going.
They look happy and healthy! Couldn’t tell but looks like the 3rd node has started. For your 1st time I would let it go the 5th and top back to #4 and leave about a 1/4” nub, helps with splitting during LST
