First time grower
Unknown strain
So these are pics today, 8 weeks and 2 days from the beginning of 12/12 cycle. Not seeing too much amber trichomes.
Going to begin flush next water.
I’ve read flower begins when change lights to 12/12 AND also read it begins once I see pistils so I’m sticking with site and % of amber trichomes.
Am I on the right track thinking this?

What a beauty bro its to early for the trichomes to get amber youre 10days into flower so… still time enough to her let her bloom more znd more so youll have some nice bud i hope it all works out for you you did a really nice job bro love what i see greetings from a fellow grower

I harvest when trics are around 60% amber
It’s all about preference and the type of high your looking for
More amber will give you more of a body high
More cloudy or milky color more of a head high

How am I 10 days into flower? Its been in 12/12 light cycle for more than 8 weeks.
I have no idea what type of seeds these were but I’ve been reading that flower stage should be no longer than 10 weeks with any type…that would mean I’m less than 2 weeks from harvesting.

Since some of you more experienced growers have commented on this lady (and I thank you for your compliments!!) I’m wondering what you believe is to be true:
Does flower stage begin the day I switch lights to 12/12?
OR
Does flower begin when I first start to see white pistils?

I think it does. Once switched to 12/12 you are in the “flowering stage” assuming they aren’t an auto, wich is time-based not light ratio based.

Check out this article. I think flower stage doesn’t really start till after the stretch so you could potentially be only 5 weeks into flower
@Jpositive one of the mistakes that I made was to forget to minus 10 days to 2 weeks from what I was thinking it was . When you first go to 12 12 lighting it takes that long for them to transition into true flowering and should be subtracted from what you are thinking you have had them in bloom . Looking good great job
Looking fantastic @Jpositive. Rule of thumb. When you think your done wait another week…lol…Seriously though I usually pull my with less amber then most 10-20% and I would say you have at least another 2-3 weeks to go. In your pics which is all I can go by and clarity is rough you don’t seem to even have much milky yet. The trichs will go from clear to milky to amber. Like others have said. Just be patient. Many make the mistake by counting the first 3 weeks once they switch lights to 12/12 when those first 3 weeks I’d considered pre-flower where the plant transitions from vegging to bloom phase , this is where the plant does most of it stretching as well for budding . So you say 8 weeks from the switch which you only been in flower 5 weeks and probably have a good 2 more weeks to go before finish . Now you can switch light schedule to 10/14 and by extending the dark period will help the trichomes ripen sooner , it helps sativas plants also being they can take longer in bloom than most indica plants . But say you get impatient and cut it now , even during the curing process which is about another 4-6 weeks curing the pistols will turn reddish and some trichomes will become ambrosed drying and into the cure . But I say another week 10/14 will help in my opinion but 2 weeks on 12/12 . But you can start your flush and extend your dark period will help it finish also if you trying to get her cut and hung .
Il love this site, and I Love Growing Marijuana!! You guys have always been so helpful and informative. You helped me through weeks and weeks of grow in the past (with these same unknown strain bag seeds) only to find that I had male plants. This is my 1st successful female and I look at it as training for my auto flower anesthesia and auto blue mystic that I’m patiently waiting to start once this is finished.
@yoshi thank you and I put her into 11/13 about 2 weeks ago and will go 10/14 for the remainder. Without everyone’s help I would have chopped her down too soon and my wife would have unimpressed with the outcome…lol
You will see your resin trichomes build up more heavily and super sticky before harvest .
