7 weeks from seed

I have 4 plants that were put in soil 7 weeks ago. Should they be bigger this far in the game?

I see so many pics on here of plants that are 4-5 weeks old and WAY bigger than these

Yeah, they do seem on the small side. Search for a support ticket on here and copy/paste it and your info to this thread. We need to know what soil, what lights, nutes, all the details. But I’m sure the guys here will figure out what may be cause.

Have one posted on “what’s wrong with my plants” thread. Will try to figure out how to transfer it to this thread

More then likely your plants roots are growing more then the plants at the moment… ( ie ) 5 gallon buckets… that’s why most people work their way up in pot size due to the fact that you want the plant and the roots to grow at the same time …whenever you take plants and throw them into big pots like that when they’re small the plants tend to search and build root structure more than growing above the soil …so it’s nothing to be concerned with but more than likely that’s what’s going on …once the roots are good and Hardy those plants are going to take off …it just might be a while…

It also is not necessarily bad, but your temps seem just a little low as well as humidity. Ideal for the canopy temp, for my environment anyway, is 75-78 degrees and humidity at around 50-55% for veg. How far from the tops of the plants are the lights?

Lights are about 6-8inches above and just put them in 5 gal last night due to not having much growth. Will be putting other 2 in 5 gal today as well. And as for humidity, working on getting it raised with towel humidifier and misting on a rugular basis

Went from solo cups to 1.5 gal buckets and final home is the 5 gal

Had a nice root system when I transplanted

Sounds like you’re on top of it. Root system looks good too. I don’t have any experience with CFL’s as I have only used HID lighting. MG soils already have time released nutes in it and you are not feeding any nutes now. You also do not have any signs of nute burn/deficiency or over watering or under watering. That would point me in the direction if a lighting issue.

The roots in the pic look brown. I think they should be bright white. When do you determine when to water?

From the look of your picture, it seems like the beginning of root bound, just be patient, your roots are just beginning loosen up on your 5 gallons pots. There gone a thrive soon…:sunglasses::innocent:

Try to water when top inch or 2 of soil feels dry. Also have a water meter, don’t know that I trust it tho. And they were real white think it’s just the way the pic turned out.

I think they are looking good… Sometimes they just need a little time to do their thing…:relaxed:

Any problems with pruning some fan “sucker” leaves to allow more light to lower branches? What route should I take on doing so?

I’m old school so I tend not to cut anything off my plants …you must understand that that’s the lifeblood the lungs the heart and soul of your babies… if anything tuck them under so that more light can get down Below… if any pruning is done it should be to the bottom half of the plant …nothing where the light penetrates… you’re defeating the purpose at that point…

Your lights will always be stronger at the top of the canopy and never as strong as a foot-and-a-half Down… so why not get rid of everything a foot-and-a-half Down and try and keep everything that’s at the top of the canopy …that’s my thinking anyways…

In a reply to your first original post, I’d say that your plant is a sativa dominant strain…they do take much longer to veg if they are photoperiod. Don’t worry your doing great. Patience young grasshopper :pray:t3::cowboy_hat_face:
