6th Week Flowering

Blue Dream photoperiod

7 gallon fabric

Fox Farm Soil

Green Leaf Nutrients

2 x Spider Farm SF2000 lighting

12/12 light schedule

2 x Fans

Dehumidifier

This is my second grow. First time with photoperiod. Made modifications from my first that have helped: second grow light, second fan, 7 gallon instead of 3 gallon fabric containers, lollipop.

Would love any comments, critiques and/or advice from growers on the forum.

Just started 6th week yesterday. I am thinking 2 more weeks of nutes and then just water for the last two weeks.

Should I leave them in the dark for three days before harvest?

Thanks to all you Growmies! One Love! :heart_hands:

I think your plants look awesome. by “6th week of flower” do you mean 6 weeks since the lights were switched to 12/12 or 6 weeks since flowers were clearly present? I’m asking because I switched my lights about 10 days ago but am calling yesterday “day 1 of flower” because the flowers were 100% clearly happening on this day. I know it really doesn’t matter, I am just trying to learn. This is my first grow since early 80’s, first hydro grow, and really first indoor grow to ever get this far.
They say Knowledge is power, so I am trying to learn wherever i can.
Back to your garden: Excellent job. I can only dream mine will get where yours are now. “I’m trying”.

@DoneDeal

Any thoughts? I really enjoy your posts and journals. :grin:

@Cooper Tx Growmie! Appreciate the feedback. :blush:

That’s a distinction that I never thought of. I am 6th week from flipping to 12/12.

How do most people calculate flowering weeks?

Thanks Growmie :facepunch: :sunglasses: :call_me_hand:, I’m glad they made you laugh or helped you figure something out!!!

One group will tell you you start counting days when you flip to 12/12 schedule and the other group will say you start your time when you see all the porcupines/ hedgehogs :point_down::point_down:

Group Hedgehogs :green_heart::metal:t2:
And nice looking plants :muscle:t2::cowboy_hat_face:

Idk. That’s why I asked you. Little confused on the subject

What you need to know Growmie? There’s a whole Canna-Fam here to help :facepunch::sunglasses::call_me_hand:

When you Google “when to start counting flowering stage for cannabis” it generates the response that most go by the flip to 12/12. I guess what can be helpful is consistency in our terminology. On my first grow I counted from the day I soaked my seeds. I realize now that is not how people count for vegetative state.

Personally, I don’t really care when to start counting the flowering stage. I could use both ways, but when we are all talking about it in a forum, especially for advice, it would be nice to have consistency of terminology.

For example, when it says Blue Dream photos take 9 weeks for flowering, do they mean when you switch to 12/12 or the first site of a hedgehog?

Not trying (forgive me/us if we do please) to hijack @Medication thread, I am really wanting to be able to say something like 3 weeks into flower without someone saying “no way that’s 3 weeks. more like 6 weeks” etc.
For the sake of argument I will use the day I flipped the lights to a 12/12 cycle. I actually don’t feel like the plants are into full flower till yesterday which was 19 days later. I will stay confused on this subject for the moment.

Np worries @Cooper ! You brought up a good question that I never thought of. I just assumed to start counting when you flip. Tx for the input. :slightly_smiling_face:

They are referring to flower time in a perfect condition grow. You won’t see hedgehogs until after you flipped to a 12/12 cycle and if you do that means you got an auto instead of a photo. Most cannabis plants take 8 to 12 weeks to flower after you see hedgehogs appear.

Ok, so counting from the hedgehog siting is how they look at it. Tx for the info. I guess, in the end, observing the trichomes will let you know when it is ready, not just the number of weeks since flipping to 12/12.

I had two chocolope plants that took almost that long to even show hedgehogs :rofl::rofl: every plant is just like us we all just a little bit different with our own little special quirks.

I only track my weeks to give me a roundabout estimate when I need to start checking trichomes. Another good indication is when 80% your white hairs have turned red/orange would be a good time to start checking on also. You are also notice the plant will start consuming less water as it gets closer to harvest

Ok. Ill consider yesterday as full on 1st day on my girls.

Like the old country and western song. The race is on & here comes pride up the backstretch, heartache, going to the inside, my tears are holding back, trying not to fall, ,etc. Cool old song. I digress. Im old…lol

@Cooper Nice looking hedgehogs! :v:

Thanks. I am pretty stoked. Less than 60 days old & first grow since the early 80’s…
Happyyyyy
