Depending on how CNongcyou plan to veg them first. But Should be able to do 2 in 5 gals in there.
It’ll save some watering trips and be a lil easier to manage later in flower as far as feeding goes.
In 3’s you’ll be watering every day. Maybe twice daily.

You can do 5 gallons, but 3 gallons will be more suitable for 2 plants in a 3x3. You can still let them veg a while. 5 gallon bags hold a lot of water and can spike humidity in a small space.

I use 5 at least but living soil. Here are 3 current mothers, 5 and 7g, in a 3x3. Full to the brim. I typically flower 4 in 1. These are vegged very long. Auto wont get like this.

I use 3 gallon filled with promix bx and 25% perlite. Depending on stage of growtt I water every 2 to 4 days. If I use 5 gallon and I have. I would only be watering every 3 to 6 days. I like the 3 gallon because I get to feed more often. Plus in my short tent I have never had three plants fill a 5 gallon pot with roots. I assume because the plants are so small I only get to veg 3 or 4 weeks.

Going with larger pot will usually allow the soils nutrient charge to last a little longer with careful watering practices. Outside of trying to go as long as possible without feeding there is very little reason to use larger than 3 gallon pot growing indoors.

I find that too small for my living soils but was gucci for liquid nutes. Just my experience with that size.

I see that. This is the reason i left the note about soil feeding times. If your approach is to have soil carry plant throughout grow it certainly works better to have more.

Yea and the life loves the bigger pots. I do small sogs with 2 and 3 gallon. but the small.pots never develop the life strength I want.

I had a 3’ tall plant bushy af in a solo cup couple years ago. It can be done but requires a lot of attention.
