WOW, am I learning stuff here. Thanks. I have three Q’s.
I am leaving on a 10 day trip in 4+ days. Small percentage of trichomes are dark, 25% milky, most clear. Should I cut most of the buds in 4 days or wait for two weeks?
Seeing fungus pictures, I trimmed a bunch of the larger and/or yellowing leaves. (Plenty more.) Is that okay?
Watched the (a) hash video. Does the ice method work with dried leaves or do they need to be freshly-plucked. Not using the big leaves, of course.
I see from a @garigan65 “post on making hash (that I can) Let your trim dry to where you can crush it with your hands almost to powder then freeze it for a few days.” I expect I could freeze it longer.
When making hash I usually freeze my trim strain from the plant and flower any thing sugared. Than it makes all the trichomes brittle resulting in less filtering and more yield
I didn’t know what sugar meant and did a search. One hour later, my head is spinning. This site really is amazing. @Majiktoker, you flour before you freeze, yes? Thanks.
Trichomes usually spend a long time getting milky before they turn amber. The fact that most of yours are clear says that you have 10 days at least to go. Clear = no THC, empty vessel.
Do you have automatic watering set up? 10 days with no water will probably kill them.
Thanks @1BigFella. I will get someone to water them.
@Majiktoker I guess I do not know what this means yet, sorry: When making hash I usually freeze my trim strain from the plant and flower any thing sugared. Not sure what flower any thing sugared means. I know what the sugar leaves are. Thanks.
I believe he means, all the sugar leaves, and small airy popcorn buds that aren’t good for smoking, and any other plant material that has that nice frosty trichome look to it. Throw it all in the freezer, the frozen trichomes will seperate/break off easier and increase your yields…
