2x4 CBD auto cheese grow

That’s just the thing you might not have to feed them until the last leg of the grow. As long as you’re watering to 20% runoff each time and the ppm’s are coming down and the plants look healthy you should be good to go

What is the reason behind watering soil to a 20% run off? Feel like you’ll be wasting soil nutrients or it would be over watered? I haven’t watered to run off yet, I usually evaluate how big is the plant and give it an amount of water for the size of it. I’m new so I’m probably doing it wrong.

That is especially important if you’re using a hot soil. if you don’t water to at least 20% runoff you take the chance of having a lock out and/or salt buildup which can affect your plant from taking the nutrients and not getting the full benefit. If you experience a lock out that’s when you can get deficiencies and run into problems. This is just my personal experience also

It’s hard to gauge but I do water until run off and always have when plants are big enough.
Yesterday I fed nutes for the first time and gave them at least 20% Run off at 6.5ph
Im using dry nutes by Chem Gro 4-20 hydro nutes. Very good company who’s been around for a long time but no one on this forum uses their mix and the 4-20 mix is new Soo. I did contact their office to get some help with mixing instructions because they are used to mixing 100’s of gallons of hydro at a time.
So they told me to just cut it in half and use about half a Gram per US gallon
But the ppm vs their ppm is different so I’ll have to email them and ask what they think. I didn’t want to nute fry my plants.

I fed with a ppm of 470 but my water is normally like 230 so it doesn’t seem like alot of nutes, although I doubled the recipe in one sample jug and it didn’t seem to make a huge difference so I just fed the 470

Thats with cal,mag and nutes fingers crossed I didn’t burn them and can always feed them more next week

Sounds good :+1: how did the girls like it?

Fed last night not really seeing any change this morning, I’ll look closer tonight and tomorrow morning as I’m going to be moving them into the tent 1 of 3 drying plants in the tent are left rest went into the cure bucket last night with a cure cork.

Moved the plants into the tent today, I have duct cleaners coming in 3hr as my house was renovated and sawdust is probably all in the vents.

Looks like the tips of the leafs curled up a bit not sure what this means to be honest.
The tent should be more humid, as the room was 20-40 but my last grow I was getting good humidity and temp levels.
I lowered the light to 19 inches @dbrn32 what do you think? About that distance, what do I want to shoot for generally? I worry about foxtailing though to…

Why? If you push the plants it will probably happen. In most cases it won’t hurt anything on mild levels. Most seem to be pretty happy with lights about 16-18"

K sounds good I just put them in the tent so I’ll give them a day or two to adjust to the lighting and then push the lights a bit closer.

I had some foxtailing in my last grow, very minimal but I did have it sot hats why I was concerned

Update
So plants have been in the tent for a couple days and just dialing in the temperature, I overheated them a bit yesterday by leaving the furnace vent in the room open. Oops

Ph a little low on 6.0 (bushy one)
TDS was 600
On the other one it was 1000

So they are hungry and it’s time to feed them, unfortunately I wasn’t able to tell until I already watered them haha.

Spent a while adding bamboo and ties, the buds got so heavy since last feed a bunch of the stems bent down!!! Yikes
Dropped the lights to 16 inches as well.
So I’ll be keeping a good eye on them I need to dial in the nutes right now to let them fatten up, I’m pretty shocked how much they ate in the last week…

On Friday I watered both plants
In: 6.5 ph/ 250 TDS (tap water de chlorinated)
Run off: 6.0 ph/ 1000 TDS.

The watering before Friday was my very first feed (end of week 5, week 6 was today.) now I mixed the nutes a bit wrong but on the lighter side, basically the recipe sais to shoot for 1800ppm and my feed was only 470 (base water starts at 250).
The run off was low and the plants I figured look hungry so I fed again today but followed the directions best I could.

Today was 6.7ph and 1600 TDS
But then I checked the run off…
One was 25000 and the other was 4000tds…
Ahh what’s going on? PH was 6.4

1800 is high for feed. I like to target 11-1200 (Max 1400) otherwise it will burn. But those very high PPM readings seem wonky.

My regular in ffof was like 3200 and stuff…
I agree everything I’ve read sais that it should be like 1400…

Maybe I should run a 5 gallon bucket through the two of them of just ph’d water to flush em a bit?

I wouldn’t flush them unless the plants were screaming something is wrong with them.

Okay, noted. Thanks guys.

This should be the last feed if not second last feed before the flushing starts next week
