Good semi-budget adjustable grow light for a 2x2 tent? I’ve seen a lot of 2x2 grows on youtube and some people are using 450w lights, probably from a sponsor (I don’t have sponsor money) I’ve looked it up and google ai says like 30 watts per square foot and wondering if anybody on here has had good results with more or less wpsf.
450 is overkill for a 2x2. I would go with a 200 to 250 watt light in 2x2. You’ll struggle to manage heat with a 450 watt light in a small tent(if it even fits.)
150 watt minimum, 200 watt max would be my recommendation Grow Bro. 150-200 True wattage and quality diodes will pay off🤟
Im in agreement with @MidwestGuy and @OGIncognito.
How tight is your budget
These are on sale right now for $70.
1 would work but 2 would be perfect for a 2x2.
I want to straddle the line between entry and results. The light you’ve shown looks good but 2? Also no dimming, the tent I have is 4’ tall so I’m already kind of worried about them being too large. I’ll put a budget of ~$160
Thank you for your help, I will look into some
Thank you, ill try to aim for something newer to ensure quality diodes
Be sure you get Samsung LM301 diodes.
The Spider Farmer SF2000 is a 200 watt light that will get the job done.
Could u send me a link? I can only find the 2x4 version
And the extra 2’ of light will just be reflected?
Sorry. I don’t understand the question.
My tent is a 2x2, you’re offering a light with coverage of 2x4, I’m asking if all the other light emitted will bounce off the walls
Good info here from the others. I think one of the bigger factors to consider is your expectations. If you’d be absolutely stoked to grow a plant out and harvest 3-4 ounces there’s probably a dozen lights for $100 or less that will do this. If you want to push your tent towards the limit of it’s potential you’re going to want a quality light with more power.
I think I seen some hlg-200 rspec on refurbished page at hlg. With any discount code I would suspect you can get this under $200. This would put you slightly bigger than what is needed with something from the current industry leader in horticulture lighting. Should never be any question about your lighting anyway.
The smaller light from sf is less than ideal for your tent. And saying the 2000 is ideal for a 2x4 is a bit of a marketing stretch by them as well.
I put in a reminder when the refurbished 200 comes back in stock, gonna view some other sources and figure out a good alternative if that takes too long. Tysm
2x2 is a small footprint. You can find a 200-250w with good diodes easy. The HLG will do it justice.
Well, that’s that then, will wait for it to be in stock and get other components ready. Do you recommend soil or coco for a first-time grower? Also dry amendments or liquid nutes?
I use a sf1000 LMH301EVO in a 27×27×63
I harvested 4oz off each of my last two grows
For a 2x2 any spider farmer with LMH301EVO or LMB301EVO diodes will do you I’m planning to upgrade to the SE1500 LMH301EVO from them
Im using one of MedicGrow’s larger lights in my 4x4 and am very happy with the set up, output, and results.
Not an HLG hater btw, defs check them out as well.
