Sorry yeah I hate the grey shit . I use 1/3rd hydro peroxide and 2/3rds spring water and spray affected area once a day . I found it to help and save my grows if I catch it early for the green and yellowing but the grey is another caliber . My experience has been once you get grey it’s going to spread throughout and I don’t know anything to be done about it . Other than harvest what you got and you can get a little more from the sides or spots it hasn’t spread to yet .
That’s if you don’t have any other grows or colonizing going on . If you do it’s probably better to dispose of it . You can try cutting it in half, throwing uninfected part behind a tree or tall grass , and hope it continues ?
Definitely would sterilize it , you , and the whole room it’s in even from simply opening the tote/tub before doing any other grows though .
I’m not sure what strain that is but I’ve had that happen to my Orissa indian strain while it was colonizing and had to toss before even had a chance to flip to fruiting .
The best way to avoid it and other contamination in the future is to chose fast and rigorous colonizing and growing strains .
Z-strain is super vigorous! I got just short of a quarter pound dry of it in my first ever bulk monotub grow . Not very visual but is a comfy trip with nice body buzz .
Then another really good one is tidal wave . Really fast colonizer , stronger than the z-strain but still more of a body buzz than visual . Don’t get me wrong though it has some good shades and hues to go with it . Took a half oz to the Alice in chains concert last year between a buddy of mine and I . Was a good time 
I still got a couple ozs of it .
Didn’t get as much as z-strain but it is a favorite this far .
Purple mystics are a pain and I finally got between a 1/4 to 1/2 oz on my 3rd try . But they are strong !
Golden teacher is a good one . Burma is a good one . Im drawing a blank for the other couple I tried but they wasn’t to bad .
I think I’m going to try my luck with the Hawaiian pans sometime later this year or next year. Those are the big leagues but much more complex and fussy . Got to get the cubes like purple mystics and penis envy down first then I’ll try the pans and more exotic strains .
Oh before I forget I don’t know where you get your medium, supplies , and spores from but I got a couple places that I get mine . I highly recommend getting spores from mushrooms . Com .
The syringes cone so loaded that you cannot break up all the clumps and it almost looks like muddy water . Sporeworks is another good place . I get the rest of my supplies from Midwest grow kits . Com . They have great customer service . Ask for Joe she seems to be the one with more knowledge . They was there for me during all of my learning curves and replaced things that wasn’t even if their fault quick ! Like within 4 days and from the other side of the country .
Thank u for all the wonderful info. Love learning… this was my 2nd tub. My 1st tub finally finished i think, but not sure yet. Got 3 onces from that one so far… this tub was a month behind, & its by my front door… 1st tub is in the martha tent… i definitely will no longer just leave the tubs anywhere… totally all my fault. Live n learn lol… these are Blue Meanies. I purchased a syringe from my Hydroponic store down the road, he usually gets some local stuff & i think Colorado but not sure on that… i made slants & petri dishes of that syringe, so i can indefinitely keep growing blue meanie forever lol. I just need to spawn more jars… i still have 2 fully colonized qt. Jars ready.
But i dont think 2 will be enough to fill those tubs ?? I think i used 4 jars in that 2nd tub… just sooo sad it was really filling up & had way more pinning then my 1st tub. I do have a recycle bin… i was just afraid

Update on my grow off im in, had 3 seeds to start. 3 pooped above ground. So far ive only killed 1, have 2 left. Hopefully 1 of these 2 makes it past seedling stage lol… i really hate seedling lol, im also like on my 6th try getting a cancer blaster seed going… this 6th one has popped her little head out. Im not watering her at all, that little riot cube is wet enough. Praying i can finally get one going

Ok yeah your learning a completely different way than I did . Your is actually more complex which is good .
I started off getting a mega kit from Midwest that has like 18 half pint jars prefilled with sterile medium . Got my spore syringe and injected the little piet holes. Let colonize in the tote they sent . Once colonized I soaked a pillowcase if perlite that came with it and filled bottom of tote . Took the colonized cakes out of jars and sat on top of the lids on the perlite . Put the little grow light on top and fanned out 2-3 times daily . Those looked like this .
Here’s a couple more shots from blocks that I got from Midwest . Lions Maine and then blue oyster I got for a friend to grow and I think other shot was the golden teachers if I’m not mistaking. I had 3 different strains growing in same tub.
But with the megakit you can easily transform into the bulk monotub grows by simply ordering spawn bags and casing instead of the jars . ( Which I found to be less work and multiple times more quantity and successful) even though they do recommend starting off with the jar method .
The way you do it seems like it would have more risk of becoming contaminated but I do like that it’s a bit more hands on and more learning involved . .
If you want an easier method of multiplying your spores they sell a liquid jar that you inject a syringe into and put in your refrigerator and it turns into like 40 syringes worth of spores . Just. Little fyi . Think it’s only like 12-20 bucks or something. So if you find a strain you really like and want to settle on it , it’s an easy and cheap way to keep your grow going . If you have a Martha tent then it would be more along your alley . I only had a couple / few totes going at once and that’s more than enough .

But yeah I’m just over 5 years clean from literally over a million dollar drug habit and have sale of heroin charge. Did prison for poss of oxycontin in Florida . Another poss of heroin down there . Poss of cocaine . Delivery of LSD and pot charges as a minor . Nope imma remain being a good boy for the rest of my story . A few over the limit plants which I don’t see to be to big of a deal is about as far as I’m pushing it any longer .

And not sure how your syringe looked but most I’ve seen are typically pretty clear of a liquid with maybe some little specs of black here n there . Like poppyseeds . That mushrooms . Com place will come with clumps of spores the size of pencil erasers and nearly half dimes . Good 4 pack deals for around 65 bucks or so . Different options of payments and fairly
quick delivery . Probably have a bigger selection as well .
I know planted earth is my local hydro store and they sell mushroom supplies and spores to but it’s much more expensive and smaller . Not near the selection . Haven’t seen the spore syringes but I’d put my bottom dollar it doesn’t compare . Think the company name they carry is monster mushrooms or something like that . Yeah check those sites out . May save some money and open up a new world of stuff you might want to try .
Just in case . Midwest will recommend where to get spores at . They recommended me to mushrooms and sporeworks . Some legality crap they can’t knowingly sell you items if you mention it’s for psilocybin and or other not legal growing purposes . They know but just can’t talk about it kind of thing .

Absolutely. I don’t have a ton of experience. I think I started around the beginning of last year . Had a couple grows with the 1/2 pint jar method as mentioned above . Then about 4-5 of the bulk grows in a monotub using the spawn bags and casing from Midwest .
Some strains are harder than others as I mentioned above . I would definitely suggest starting of with the cubensis for sure though . Even amongst them there are some that are way more finicky than others .
Purple mystics is one of the harder ones within the cubes . But being from Tampa FL a d they are originally from the outskirts of Tampa I just had to give it a go. It’s believed that the purple ring on top of the cap is an indication of how potent it is from possessing more psilocybin. If it is in fact the ones we used to pick as teenagers back in the 90s then I will testify to it . It’s the one time I thought I actually overdosed on .
Was a wild wild trip . My buddy’s girlfriends parents was down and rented condos on Clearwater beach . We got a cookie tray full and boiled it down with kool-aid , tea, brown sugar n stuff to it was very concentrated . Was a pure purple juice . William and I drank about a half of one of those red cups full . I shit you not before I could even finish rolling a joint I was already having the yawns and started tripping . Talking within like 10 minutes . I knew then I fucked around and found out . Was in for a hell of a ride . About 30 minutes in it was already kinda like the peak of a normal trip . My buddy puked behind the bird sanctuary. Then I started trying to myself puke to relieve some of it . Couldn’t and started to worry a bit .
I remember walking through the carport parking lot that the condos was built over . Was kind of like the pink Floyd the wall moment with shit nearly melting and colors swirling with the wind . ( Is making me smile remembering and talking about this ) . Long story short here we are a couple 18 year old men wrapped up in a blanket on the steps outside of the condo for hours . We couldn’t face her family like that . So once they finally went to sleep we went inside and finally started to wear off the trips . Tell you what when I layed down and realized everything was ok I had the most euphoric out of body experiences I ever had !! And I’m not bragging more ashamed really but I have done allot of drugs in my time . Literally over a million dollars mostly heroin and cocaine products but a fair share of ecstacy and others . Am 5 years of March this year incept for of course shrooms , weed , and Suboxone.
Sorry I got taken off track with that story . Anyway It took me a few tries and last time was the best attempt but only got not much more than a quarter oz. (With the purple mystics ).
I haven’t tried penis envy’s yet but I hear they are pretty finicky and allot of people have a hard time with any success .
Most people stuck to golden teachers and other fast colonizing strains like I mentioned above . Would get the hang of it before experimenting with the harder cubes and more exotic strains like pans and the others .
But most of my attempts/ experiences with cultivating cubes I would say was a success. But even the failed I still learn something . I’m pretty busy and don’t come on here as much as I’d like but I’d be happy to help if I’m able to.
Going to be a little while before I’m able to get back to experimenting with the mushroom cultivation… cause holly sheep shit this cannabis hobby is expensive as hell . I’m in debt with my first set up still and already trying to upgrade .
For anyone that does try the spawn and casing from Midwest here is a couple tips . They suggest using their normal non manure based first because the manure based is more susceptible to contamination if you don’t have your temps correct . It also has a much shorter shelf life .
The one thing I bought was a digital temp controller which I’m sure Allot of you already may have from weed grows or whatnot . And humidify controllers . Just plug into heat mat and it helped me allot . But I have found that I had the best success with their horse manure based casings compared to their black cow , premium , and or regular casings . Bit more expensive but just overall had better experience with it in last couple grows . Anyway that’s enough out of me . Happy growing everyone.

Lol your not kidding, i try to keep myself in check with these girls , but you know how it goes, always something new & improved out there… i pretty much have all that i started with. I keep it to just the 2 tents & summers outside, let mother nature do mosta the work lol
Off ta work i go!!! Im pretty much retired , trying to make some extra money from home to help out… i made my own substrate from i think GOLDEN Teachers videos. Cocoa coir, vermiculite & gypsum, 5 gallon bucket. Boil 18 cups of water, pour in, soak overnight with lid on,wrapped in a towel. Then into clean sterile mono tub, tape all the holes til ready for fruiting, then , put poly fil in the holes when its fruiting. Great success with 1st tub, 2nd tub i was careless with, it was out in the open, not sterile environment, i let stuff in when fanning & looking at it. Lol. … im sterilizing all the front room today. Washed & vacuumed everything down & now im trying a Uv sterilizing lamp i got on market place for 20$… supposed to kill all spores & microbes & everything… also cleaned out the big tent, ( ready for new occupants) lol
Id like to inoculate the jars today & inoculate the spawn jars… im also dumping that whole mono tub in the recycle canister, wish i could save a some, but id be to scared the mushroom itself got the grey fungus. 
i did spray the grey down with 1% peroxide uugggg i hate i cant take pics from here, i have to leave the site & go to my camera!!! Ever since the upgrade.
